  HELP !!!:::DOES ANYONE KNOW GUITAR CORDS

  just bought our son his first xmas present (he's only 17!!!!!

  )....an electric guitar.. but we don't have any idea how to play and the 1st step teaching books are all out.. can anyone please tell us 2 or 3 cords for a popular song that he can try strumming along to?.

  we've tried seaching the net but it's too complicated.. we don't know anything so you'll have to be really simple and basic !.

  Thanks for all your suggestions, We are going to get him some lessons, its just that all he wants to start NOW!!!!!!

  We are going to the city tommorrow to see if we can get him a book to get started this weekend

  It will be a shame if he has to wait over the weekend to start

  i've often wondered this.

  since being inactive, i smoke and drink like a trouper, have gotten up to various sexual mis-endeavours (lol) and played up generally.

  i'm not all that proud of any of this, just the way my life has gone.

  Its also interesting which congregations hear the announcement.

  There was one guy who left our cong about 5 years ago, went to live abroad, his Dfs was announced in our hall ! None of his family were there so why?

  I think there was a definate witch hunt there

  Im definatly not going, I think ill make an excuse to my friend and postpone the visit.

  I will have to take her to a hall, shes going on and on about visiting a hall while she here, I might say ours is at an assemble that week and take her to one outside our town, then when nobody acknowledges me she wont wonder why. If I take her to mine it will be all " oh how lovely to see you again, weve missed you, are you going to start making the meetings regularly now"

  I feel the same as you !

  As long as I have family in, I cant let go. I so want to say goodbye to the whole horrilble experience. Well I was in , as an adult for 20 years, and I struggled for 19 years, slow learner I think so!

  My husband came in 5 years after me, he told me the other day it was the only way we could stay together, cos he loved me! Please more guilt I cant take it. But I love him for it. Were stil together 25 years despite them not because of them.

  One day ill tell my story, if anyone is interested

  Lessons require less thinking

  i have noticed something for the last couple of years.

  the lessons appear to me much easier and less meaty (this has been discussed at length).

  however, something i haven't seen discussed too often is the changes that have occurred in the thinking portion of preparing for the meetings.

  Even in the assemble programmes they have a "rehearsed" question and answer section.

  My family and others were asked to put our hands up as stooges, in the audience, so it looked more realistic and impulsive answering.

  Then they selected the rehearsed answer. I was terrified the person asking the questions remembered the real ones who were going to answer. NEVER AGAIN

  When I told my sister, she wouldnt believe me, she thought they were real !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  I used to take the kids round to look at the decorated houses ( to laugh at them of course) not really they really enjoyed it. I must have been so blind to have stopped my kids enjoying this, but then again youll do anything to "save" them

  as i become more comfortable i hope to join in the topics and begin to share more about myself.. for now i'll say that i am currently a jw that began researching information about two years ago to improve my faith and knowledge.

  This board really helped me, Were doing the fade too.

  Ive visited a lot of sites, some were really good helped me with a lot of research. But this is the site I visit everyday, sometimes I dont post, just read.

  I dont think I would have stayed sane without this site, so thanks everyone!!!!!!1

  This is a real biggy for me, when I fully realized that the WT had stepped in between me and Jesus as my mediator, cheeky buggers, I know I must have studied the watchtower dealing with it but it must have passed me by!!!! Mind you I had been in a fog for 20 years.

  I dont know how long I can duck and dive, I want them to know I dont go to meetings but it makes life easier if they dont know and I dont see any of my old friends anyway.

  Its just when they want to visit.
