the standard watchtower teaching about the coming "paradise earth" has, as its most prominent feature, the promise of everlasting life and eternal youth.
this expectation is especially based on such texts as revelation 21:1-4 which declares: "i saw a new heaven and a new earth; the first heaven and the first earth had disappeared now, and there was no longer any sea.
i saw the holy city, and the new jerusalem, coming down from god out of heaven.... here god lives among men.
As I have no knowledge of other christian religions. How do they answer, the question about Adam and Eve. If they had not eaten the fruit and disobeyed, they would still have been alive today. Surly this is the crux of the paradise earth and living forever.
Gods original purpose, to have people live forever on the earth.

i wonder if anyone can remember a drawing, i think it was in the old children book (pink/orange hard cover if i remember correctly), of babies being offered up as sacrifies to a false god.

When my family left the truth when I was still a child, that book left a huge impression on me.I was terrified. So much so that when I had children, I decided to go back to the only "truth" I knew
That was 20 years ago, I stopped going about 9 months ago, only after I brought most of my family in and my now adult child, is still in.
I tried not to talk about armageddon much, cos I was so scared of it. I mostly concentrated on the new system. My daughter told me not so long ago that she is terrified of armageddon, so I didnt do such a good job after all.

at the circuit assembly, there is always a part on the program where the co gives specific counsel needed in the circuit.

one i remember was a co that spent about 5 minutes deriding one elder (whom he did not name of course) for spending a saturday arranging the icons on his computer [this must have been 10 years ago when windows 3.1 was still the rage].

I always believed if you confessed you should be forgiven, as long as it was legal, in fact I didnt believe you SHOULD confess, unless you really wanted to.
I always thought it was between you and Jehovah, but if you dont confess and the elders find out, wham your out, even if youve prayed for forgiveness and feel you have recieved it!!!!!!!!

i have been visited by a local jw woman weekly for almost 4 years and started weekly study about 1 year ago.
friday things took a more serious turn and i am very uncomfortable.. i need advise on how to stop the meetings (without being offensive) and still get away from this madness before it gets out of control.
Try not to feel too bad, many JWs would be more upset about losing those precious hours that they can tally up with a nice warm confortable study.
Remember many icluding myself were forgotten the instant they moved away, got Df or DAs. So you are not going to rate highly with them being upset cos they love you.
You owe them nothing, just politely say no more thankyou!!!
It feels horrible when you think you have to reject someone, but they are thick skinned and are used to it, and they wont take it personally, believe me

that as many people as possible protest at their beloved memorial - the one event that is "most sacred" to them.. i am not suggesting that we disrupt or do anything illegal but simply that we exercise our right to take up their offer of free wine and make a statement.. go, drink.
