  Phone Witnessing...

  in my congregation, there is a well established group that does phone witnessing every thursday.

  the society actually encourages us to try other avenues of ministry, however it seems like phone witnessing is hurting more than its helping.... even i, the covert apostate, don't mind phone witnessing.

  i mean whats not to love?air conditioningfoodsitting around and talkinggirlsdid i mention food?.

  Towards the end, before my fade, I would just telephone witness. The last time I went out on first call we did the local university were there were a lot of foreign students. They were just lapping up everything we told them, cos they where under the impression we were main stream christians. I just couldnt do it to them !!!!!!

  Never went out again. As for doing it on the phone it was pathetic, id say "we are having a bible talk on sunday and are inviting interested ones to come along" most would say no thanks, and id just be relieved. Im sorry I didnt just pretend, I could have really showed off my ministry skills LOL

  i didn't go to the district convention this year.

  my mom however did and she sends out a daily text email every day.

  she asked all members of the email group to share their favorite part of the convention.

  Actually I got a call from a sister, 2 days after the convention, Im sure she was genuine, she never mentioned the meetings but invited me to her holiday home whenever I wanted. I thanked her and said it was a kind thought. The trouble is however kind the gesture was, she didnt even realize she had an agenda, sorry for sounding suspitious but after being a dub for over 20 years-------ummmmm

  JWD Awards??

  so, i was thinkin, and got hit with a good idea.

  everyone whos been here for more than a week has posters that they love, and posters that they loathe.

  some make laugh, some make us cry, and some drive us right up the wall.... so to honor that, i think we should have some sort of jwd award session... (should simon approve).

  Apostates And Never-Beens At Fests Together.

  i think that it works quite well.. a 50 - 50 split between 'postates and and ordinary folk at fests does have some distinct advantages imho.. plus, the 35 + never beens at the wsm fests all now know about jw's.

  they know that there's more to being a dub than not having a blood transfusion.

  they've met the 35 + ex's in a social situation and know all about shunning and family splitting.
