  I know on a few other forums I go on (not JW) have what they call "sticky" threads

  If we had a few important threads that stayed up at the top eg common questions by newbies or important info for the lurkers..the peodo problems, shunning , stuff like that it would save a lot of repeatitious threads.

  heres the stuff that i said i would send concerning the 587/607bce issue, as well as some other stuff that you requested dad.

  the archeological/astronomical stuff is probably going to come across as very boring, but it is truly a help in settling the 587/607bce issue.

  hello, yes the scotsman has returned, but i have been naughty .

  i have been doing some of my own research on the internet etc regarding jws and some doctrinal issues.. i have had some doubts for a while but am beginning to think that some of our current teachings are simply unsustainable.. example - the 1914 timeframe.. the reason that this is so pivotal is that it is a foundation stone of the organization.

  evidence is easily available to prove that this date is unsafe.. many on here speculate about revolution in the organization etc, if 1914 was moved it would have a catastrophic effect on the ordinary publisher and would lead to big change across the congregations.

  My daughter and husband who are still in the org, missed the point of the generation change, they were too young to notice the enormity of it. My goodness even I did, completely stuck my head in the ground. They always say they dont think the big "A" is around the corner, so im not sure if they would completely appreciate a change or the dropping of 1914.

  I think I should start talking to her about it, prime her a little, just incase they do and then something may click. The problem is they are not spiritual but believe it all the same..............and its all theyve ever known , surrounded by family and friends.

  The Rumor Mill Never Stops

  stopping in here.. when i was an active dub i was always looking over my shoulder, making sure i was doing things "correctly"....and by "correctly" i mean by jw standards.

  i'm referring mainly to when it came to dating and courtship.

  someone always seemed to be investigating us, hounding us so to speak.

  What gets me is that they think they have a right to ask the most invasive questions...................and then expect an answer !!!!

  They are never get embarrassed, or think its none of their business.

  Im going to a wedding soon and if anyone asks me anything I dont want to know im going to tell them right out "this is none of your business"
