Even NEWER LIGHT on Generation doctrine???

hello friends,.

i heard from a "brother" whose daughter is in bethel, that his daughter told him that there will be 'new light" released in january pertaining to "adjustments in understanding" of the generation doctrine.. does anybody know what this may be about?

or what the change might be?.

I dont really understand what this new light is, whats the difference from the 95 change .........................can someone explain it

IMPORTANT: JWS and the CHARITIES COMMISSION

dear all (especially those in the uk),.

following on from danny's excellent post here: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/16/128626/1.ashx i have just sent an e-mail to the charities commission.

some time ago i wrote to you about the dangers of jehovah's witnesses and how they don't deserve charity status because far from helping mankind they are a real danger to it.

I have always felt this is the way to really hurt the WT. They should be made to prove what makes them charitable. If i remember correctly they say that they promote ,families and Christianity within the community. Im sure the commision would be very interested to know how the average witness really thought about that.

Ian................I though it was 25,000 peodos in the US not world wide. Have you informed them how much the WT s turnover is each year. And how much the UK sends to Brooklyn....................tax free. That is not benefiting British people and communities.

i have just ben told by my jw wife that my daughter will not be able to get a penny for her very 1st wobbly tooth, presumably because the belief in fairys may be damaging to her.

on the other hand, it is ok for 100 adults to discuss in front of my wee 5 year old, matters relating to oral sex in a sunday morning wt study.

I think you should stand up for your child. Tell your JW wife to sod off !! They ALWAYS feel its their right to say and do exactly what they want . I think if my hubby had been a bit stronger with me and the kids, I might have left sooner and my hubby wouldnt have come in the org himself.

I remember he insisted the kids when to a bonfire on bonfire night. They loved it , I was happy cos it didnt affect my conscience and I secretly wanted them to go. And dont take the excuse that they will get confused..................your their father and you should say what you want your children to experience or not.

Id also ask her what they would be studying that meeting and if you think its not appropriate dont let them go!!!

Remember this is terrible, damaging rubbish they are learning............which could stay with them forever. Do you want them to be frightened of armageddon? because they will be.

Just saw a witness

i was at the department store picking up a new belt and i ran into the witness that did my wedding photo's.

last that i knew he was an elder at one of the local halls.

so i stop him and say hey.

How "Strict" was the mentality in your congregation?

like i said earlier on another thread, in the late 80's in my congregation, a brother could not shake the hand of a sister entering the hall.

no touching !!!.

i also recall going out in the field service and it was cold, like -20c, and i went to a ms house just to say hi, and i saw his wife waiting in front of her house for a lift to go out in the field service.

I think it depends on the PO, ours was pretty normal but...............A married brother and his wife and I decided to axillary pioneer . Well on a couple of occasions his wife was ill and didnt come with us......so we just just carried on , until a brother "discovered " our indiscretions and haled him over the coals about it. I mean I would never have done a dirty deed with him...........but anyway we were not allowed to travel together alone..............I never told hubby cos he would have gone berserk that anyone was accusing me of doing anything other than spiritual stuff. I mean he was ugly !!!!!

what about NOT making new friends...life as a hermit for most part

i actually saved a classified ad from an east coast paper that needed experienced crew on a 48' sailing yacht.

i was at this town for my 10th wedding anniversary and staying at a nice b&b.

this was back in april.

I am quite an anti social person. When I was going to meetings we had a very busy social life. But I discovered they werent real friends. I dont have friends now and dont want or need them. I have sisters who dont live close but I feel thats enough for me.

My daughter said the same thing to me.................she was a bit upset to learn that a few sisters in the KH had had a get together and not invited her ( bloody typical )..............but she then remarked that she didnt like socializing anyway !!!

I dont know if its a learned or personality thing. I know my husband misses have friends or acquaintances and hes always trying to get me to invite the neighbours round for a meal. I sometimes succumb, but generally dont like it.

I think its a trust issue.............and that definately comes from being a witness......I dont have any
