  Friends, I am a longtime Witness (35 years), born "in the Truth" and raised up in the 70's. When the time came I had to chose my Education, there was something not accepteble: Higher Education. This was not done! At that time, I agreed with it. Later on, when someone learned me to think "out of the box", I was wondering why the Society was against Higher Education: to keep us "in line" as they wanted. But, now I know, that our old leaders (GB) are not longer boss in Brooklyn. Higher Educated guys took the lead. Here is a proof, I found on the Internet. PS I got Higher Education later on, so I am not really a victim of the WTS policy. But it makes me angry how their stand has effect on the life of so many people.   There is some quality problem with the magazine's. The are very simple. But even more, the assembly's are very simple too! Last year I could not understand the simple mind way of "teaching" us. Just like "playing the same song all the time...". Old wine in old .... And now, the Daniel Fantasy book is historical very simple. Watch the pictures in it. King of North, King of South switching when it is in line with WTS doctrine. Bleh... Ozner.

  an article in the professional journal obstetrics & gynecology (sep 2004) indicates that, if need arises, almost 10% of pregnant jws would agree to accept packed red blood cells while another 40% would consent to a variety of donated blood products.

  Richard,

  I think this numbers are a result of the recent doctrinal changes the Society stated in the Watchtower. At this moment many of these dicisions are to the person him/herself. The own responsibility lead to OWN DISCISIONS, with as result the numebers I read in the article.

  Many of the younger JW-christians (me included) will take a more pragmatic position. Doctrinal we get more responsibility, so we take that responsibility, however it could have some consequences.

  The Society says to the outside world "own responsibility" but for internal ears it has to be "follow us, there is nothing changed". Younger JW's read this between the lines and take their stand.

  1914--It is still there. The more they change the more they stay the same.

  a relative of mine had some jehovah's witnesses stop by and give her the august 1, 2004, watchtower.

  much to my surprise, well not really, i found this on page 5 in the article gods kingdom government.

  it says, "rather than being an abstract condition of the herart, god's kingdom is a real government thta has accomplished wonderful deeds since its inauguration in heaven it 1914.".

  The last years the year 1919 is more intensive present in the new WTS books then ever. 1919 is more listed in the Daniel and Isaiah book than the year 1914. I think the writers are weakening 1914 by making 1919 more important. Once upon a time we do not read anything about 1914 but 1919 only.

  your conscience is not involved concerning the four main components of blood.. your conscience is involved concerning the fragments of the four main components of blood.. the watchtower magazine gives us a nice frame work at page ** what makes clear what we have to do concerning medical treatment.

  are we not happy the brothers make such a clear frame work for us?.

  When I heard these remarks I had to think about the Watchtower telling us not to use the phrase "the Society says" but "the Bible learns me".

  So we have to deal with a schizophrenic conscience. Number 1 concerning the main components, number 2 concerning fragments of the main components.

  The Watchtower magazine told us as well that nothing changed concerning this interpretation since 1981.

  Thank you for the nice frame work! But now it is time for the truth...

  i wonder why the wts does not point out any organisational information to the local witnesses.

  Dear Friends, I wonder why the WTS does not point out any organisational information to the local witnesses. Example: when they reorganised the GB and corporation structures, they did not inform the witnesses. I had to read the report about this found on this forum, with many internal details. Nearly a year afterwards there was a WT article with the most undefinable explanation I can imagine to back the change of this large reorganisation. Why should they hide this information? I am sure that most of all the witnesses do not know that the president is no longer anointed and that the GB has laydown their corporation positions and that the original WTS is split up in smaller corporation like Kingdom Support Corporation, Farms Corporation, Christian Congr. of Jehovah's Witnesses and many many more. Most of all witnesses do not know how "the work" is organised, and think there is nothing changed at all. As a JW I feel not respected by the WTS because they do tell me what to do and what to think about many subjects, but they do not give any respect to the local witnesses, concealing internal communication. I wonder if there are more JW's like me with this question. Ozner

  of course, the jw doctrine says "no" to a connection between un and the watchtower society.. but: my personal opinion as a long-time witness is that this was a ultimate chance for the society to change things for good: the wts as a ngo, helping many people in the world to improve their lives, just as they did on a small scale with aidafrique in africa and asia earlyer.. why did the wts disconnected from un so soon after the guardian-story?

  now, there are only losers, no winners: the wts, with all the pr-problems on this subject now, but more important, the many people who could be helped with a wts/unhcr aid-program or an aidafrique/unhcr aid-program.. the reaction of disconnecting so soon as possible was not a professional act!.

  Of course, the JW doctrine says "no" to a connection between UN and the Watchtower Society.

  But: my personal opinion as a long-time witness is that this was a ultimate chance for the Society to change things for good: the WTS as a NGO, helping many people in the world to improve their lives, just as they did on a small scale with aidafrique in Africa and Asia earlyer.

  Why did the WTS disconnected from UN so soon after the Guardian-story? Now, there are only losers, no winners: the WTS, with all the PR-problems on this subject now, but more important, the many people who could be helped with a WTS/UNHCR aid-program or an Aidafrique/UNHCR aid-program.

  The reaction of disconnecting so soon as possible was not a professional act!

  Please, do not build so many buildings like offices and congreshalls, but do something to help the people with any food or clothes!
