New generation change: blaming rank & file again?

the worst part of the "1995 generation change"- implementation was for me personaly the watchtower study-article defining the new (or changed) doctrine.

the article mentioned that rank & file witness "thought" that the generation was related to 1914 because they want it so.

it hurted me deeply and i am still agry (12 years later!)..

The blame was pointed at the lower level: the simple JW in the congregation who was thinking that the generation was related to 1914. We are Ha'aretz isn't it? People of the land...

I'm wondering if we are getting the blame again. Because we think (at this moment) that the generation is not related to 1914 and we think that the generation is related to all people living in the last days.

Long live the Ha'aretz...

Do you think that "JW's" will get rid of the "Paradise earth" doctrine?

with all of the changes regarding the 1935 closing of the heavenly calling that jw's taught for over 70 years what will be the next thing to go in their doctrinal system.

will they one day say"we were wrong the earth is going to burn up and all christians will go to heaven".

russell was right after all and yes the "great crowd" will indeed go to heaven.nothing suprises me anymore with the jw's.

This was the first I thought about when I read the may 1, 2007 QFR. It can be also like this: maybe armagedon has taken place! Invissible, and are we now living in the 1000 years behind.

Just like the first Christians! They also wear costumes and ties the whole day, just like salespeople, and not like missionary's.

But: do you think that young JW will listen to this counsel? There is a reason why this is said every year: because they don't listen anymore!

having read posts over the last few months, i have come to the conclusion that there must be alot of 'active' jw's who still regularly attend meetings/field service etc.. don't you feel that by posting your many and varied topics, usually complaining/disagreeing with the wbts, that you are being hypocritical?

when you post your information, obtained sometimes in an questionable manner, doesn't it make you question your own underhanded actions?.

you converse with many on this forum who are disfellowshipped/dissasociated, yet if you knew who these ones were, face to face, you would not give them the time of day!

I walked out in the middle of the Watchtower Study yesterday............

i'm down to 1 meeting per week and that is even becoming difficult to attend.i read blondie's excellent reviews of the weekly watchtower study and that keeps my sanity when reading the weekly study.

yesterday,i walked out in the middle of the study and went home because of some comments that were made after the reading of paragraph 5.here is blondie's study article and one comment that was made at the meeting.. .

clearly, jesus was concerned that his followers too could become distracted by satan's world, even to the point that they might "return to the things behind.

After the watchtower-study I have had a heated discussion with my partner also. I will not give you to much details, but speaking about this kind of history-fraud on a normal way seems not possible. I am happy to read I am not the only one...

"it seems that resurrected ones of the 24-elders group may be involved in the communicating of divine truths today.

" (the 24 elders = "anointed christians in their heavenly positions".).

I'm still "in" the organisation, but I have to say this is a very strange watchtower article. What will the future bring? I should think that these articles are screened before publishing?

WT 1/1/07 the worst in a decade?

there are a number of long time witnesses in my family ( 60 years plus) who are shocked by the contents of the jan 1 2007 wt.

for the first time they are telling me that someone in the writing department have it sooooo wrong!

in their minds it does not mean that the society as a whole is wrong because of their past comments (!!??).

The doctrine presented in WT 1/1/07 does me think of the 70's! This is realy a strange presentation. How can we say that Paul, Luke, Peter etc. have gone to heaven since 1918 without tears in our eyes?? What did they do between the first century and 1900? I'm still a JW, but this presentation is also a discussion in our family. Do the writers think that all JW's are uneducated and waiting for this kind of knowledge??

Atlantis, thanx, this helps me much. The France Watchtower website has published some different pictures, although the pictures are not on the site anymore. I hope someone has those pictures in an archive. The pictures shows witnesses protesting in Strasbourg with banners etc right before the EU buildings.

I hope there is someone from France who can upload these pictures.
