today, i am taking the girls to meet with the court appointed attorney.

he will interview the girls and me together, then he will interview sara and the girls together.

it is his recommendation to the judge that will decide the outcome of this custody battle.

Try typing in ... Shaun's research..... This is a good site to learn the basic teachings of the Jehovah Witnesses. Lots of doctrine and other subjects covered, all categorized for easy understanding. I find this site a good place tp start to learn about the j.w. "religion".

Finally was able to talk!

yesterday i was able to actually talk with my wife about the wt, and where i stand.

i mean in detail.

for the last couple of years, i'd get bits and pieces out, but then get shut down as she didn't want to hear, but yesterday was different.

man they are cunning little people - they make you drop everything that is good and normal in your life, make you turn against your family and friends, then build you up to think you are wonderful, then once you leave them, you are left in limbo with nothing for you either side of the fence.

i feel numb and really have no trust in anyone now.

I agree with Candid...It's their loss. I don't know if you were in another religion before you got involved with the Watchtower. If you were, you must notice that the j.w.'s removed that trust, also. As for friends, now you will have a chance to find TRUE friends, in time. I was never in the org., so I can't say how long that takes, but I hope it is a very short time. Anyway, what I'm also trying to say is, don't lose trust in all people. You've been burnt by the Watchtower, and you don't want to get burnt again. Time heals. Things will definitely get better as time goes on. Keep your chin up.

Dan the Man, ....would you know any stories you can share about some of the people that have disassociated themselves?

CeriseRose,... From your reply, it looks like the j.w.'s start rumors about people leaving, and therefore make up their own theory of why they left, which seems very convenient for them.

This way they can make them look as bad as they want to look. Does this sound right?

Does Belgium Have it Right About JWs?

The problem is, in this country you have "freedom of religion". This is taken to the extremes here, whereas in some other countries, they are able to research these radical religions (cults), and make a better judgement on which ones are destructive cults, and which ones are not.

Does the U.S. have a government backed board that reviews new and existing religions to make sure they are or are not destructive? Let me know if you know of one, so I can write too them about the Watchtower.

I had a talk with my Bible study daughter tonight...interesting responses.

i called my daughter tonight, and after small talk, eventually asked her....... what would be the reasons a j.w.

would get disfellowshipped?.

she was very responsive, and gave me these answers.

Elsewhere, I can see now that I had that wrong. I'll try to talk to her again about it, and this time ask I'll about disagreeing with the w.t. policies, whether that's grounds for disfellowshipping.

Blindfool, I didn't know you can still get disfellowshipped for smoking. Is that policy still in effect? From what you are saying, it looks like you have to (or are made to feel guilty of if you don't), tell the elders of ANY sins that you commited during your lifetime. Am I interpreting this right? As for the stories on this forum, I believe 99 percent of them, because I am getting to know you people so well because of this forum and because of the way you respond to people on this forum, that you can't be making this up. What would you get out of it, anyway? And so many stories? It just has to be true. So, I'm hoping that someday my daughter will read some of these posts and see the real truth about the W.T. from them. In the meantime, I am going to do all I can to sway her, also.

Heathen, I think most Elders like to play God, and that's why they enjoy "squeezing" these sins out of their "sheep".

Sirona, what about if a girl stays over a mans house overnight, if it started out as a party, and it was very late and there were other friends staying there also? Would that stiil count?

How can they justify disfellowshipping a person for looking up their own material and using it? It doesn't make sense, but I'm sure they still do it. I just can't understand it.

The "conscience matter" to have blood... Is that for human blood? When did they change this doctrine, Sirona?

Terry, I'm so glad you posted this thread. It totally agravates me to see the Witnesses use the term "TRUTH" when it is all so much total lies !!! How can they take that word and tear it apart like they do. If theirs is the "truth", then what word would you use to REALLY tell the "truth"?

Now I hear the word "truth", and right away Jehovah's witnesses come to mind. It's sickening!!! I wanted to put out a post about this, but didn't even know where to start. Thanks for bringing it up for me.
