Watchtower admits, "We are like the Catholic Church"
by Juan Viejo2 incalvin rouse describes himself as "general counsel for the national organization of jehovah's witnesses out of brooklyn, new york.".
while representing one of the defendants during a trial held in san mateo county court in redwood city, california, on february 22, 2012, rouse made this amazing statement:.
"ordinarily, i wouldn't be here, but this is one our 13,000 congregations in the united states.

If you are df'd...have you.....
by sinamongurl in.
ever tried going to a kh where no one knew you and actually interacted with the congregation?.
i was thinking of doing this just to see what people would say to me and see if they would try to have a bible study with me

welcome "in between" u r definitely an asset here
The fear of getting killed at Armageddon still persists. I can't D.A. while my parents are alive ... but today, even though I've been fading for awhile, was the last straw. I need to move on. Now I'm left with the simple question ... now what? Thank you for your time ... I hope to be a positive addition to this board ...
i have been df'd for 5 years now and still have the fear of armageddon inside me...the intensity of it fades but i still i have my good days and bad days wondering if somehow what the jws have taught is true....but as u mentioned, i agree that something just doesnt add up....u r considered a friend until u make a "mistake"
there is no rooms for mistakes or being urself.....u have to fit in....and if u question ur own beliefs...."look out" u r all of a sudden an apostate
i have found that i have better and more loyal friends out in the "world" than i did in the "truth"
so keep reading and posting and u will find comfort

Do you still have trouble shedding the 'watchtower filters' at times?
by AK - Jeff ini have fully rejected the false religion of jehovah's witnesses - after 43 years a believer in the nonsense.
now though, i often find that i still filter the world thru watchtower spectacles, even after almost three years out.
i don't do it on purpose, in fact i defy the wt doctrine whenever i can and work hard to change my mindset to more 'moderate christian' thinking.

Flag salute - voting - politics - friendships - grooming - view of sex and marriage - movie ratings - various holidays. On and On. Not that I still follow the Wt thinking - I don't. But I still have it weighing heavily on the scale when I think of how to handle certain matters or situations in life.
ALL THE TIME!!!!
although it gets less and less and times goes on.....i still have guilt over certain things at times....lol

Governing Body and their sins
by moanzy ini was just reminiscing about things i remember being said to me by elders about disfellowshipping.
a person can be disfellowshipped because of gross sin(could mean anything), being unrepentant etc.
an elder said to me that a person may be disfellowshipped even though he is repentant if it is gross sin and his sin widely known.. so my question is why doesn't this also apply to the governing body?

As a Dub, did you read the magazines to understand the Bible, or......
by AK - Jeff indid you use the bible to support the magazines?.
it was only in the last year or so before i 'saw the light' that it dawned on me.
i knew co's who could quote wt texts, page and line, but almost never really used the bible.

i guess in all honesty it was in support of the magazines even though in my head i was sincere about reading them to understanding the bible....i mean how often did we get counsel to read read read the magazines as if they were more important than the bible anyway
