the past few weeks have been interesting.
we haven't gone to meeting in 2 weeks.
i simply haven't prepared to go.
she is probably taking into consideration what u have expressed to her.....theres all the other junk that goes along with thinking differently as we all know.....the guilt and pain that comes from wondering if questioning things is ok......
so give her time.....

the use of the word "conscience" to appease the masses.....usually the definition is chosen by the elder body of any given congregation.....making it ok for one congo to do something and not ok for another to do it....
do you remember years ago this was mentioned among the brothers in conversations about elders?
yet i cannot ever recall being directed to a scripture which proved all elders were appointed by holy spirit.
it seems that everyone just accepted that they were, including myself , and yet how is this possible considering how many i've seen were corrupt when appointed.. any others think about this when in the org
i think about it more now that im out....i didnt think enough for myself to think otherwise back then....even though at times i would see and hear of elders doing naughty things at times.....did make me wonder.....but then theres always the excuse of "imperfectoin"

i kinda dont fully understand what actually happened here....but im sure it brings "reproach" on jehovahs name.....which makes me wonder (in no way trying to mock God) but shouldnt he have headed this off before it happened.....meaning the true god of this "true" religion had a chance to stop it

I'm sure Jesus had personal relationships with his disciples, but I don't think it follows that after his death one can have a "personal relationship" with him. He's been dead for 2000 years!

i was told today by a very reliable source my dad gave a talk at the latest district convention.
in it, he talked about how he 'has had to endure both his son and daughter leaving the truth.

i agree with u on alot of points that u mentioned, although i do not know of ur story......i believe in god as the one to be worshipped and that he doesnt work thru any given religion.....i, too, will never be associated with a religion because of my jw experience.....i have alot of spiritual rather than religous beliefs....ex: new age, gnostic, researching past lives, and so on.....the only law given as a "christian" is to love our neighbors as ourselves....if we do that, what else is there

what does christian mean anyway? doesnt it mean a follower of christ.....a man? arent "we" supposed to be followers of god and not man? i am, in no way disrespecting jesus....just posing a question that if we point out the jw belief that jesus was gods son, then he was sent to earth to prove that god does exist and that we should follow him (not just as a means of salvation, which can only be given thru god anyway).....besides if "jesus" is in heaven right now, his name isnt jesus anymore.....so i dont understand why so much emphasis on jesus when god is the one to be worshiped....should this be called something else besides christianity....what is it called when u r a worshiper of god?
