I was out for fifteen years before I looked into anyhthing at all about witnesses. Didn't want anything at all to do with or discuss. It can take a long time to come to a point where you feel as though you want to handle this type of discussion about things.

Ex-JWs off the Radar?
by sweet pea inthis week i was contacted by an old friend of mine who was recently disfellowshipped.
i encouraged her to check out jwd for support, advice and friendship.
she had a brief look but said it wasn't really for her, she would rather just "move on and have fun!".

For the most part. Little pieces of obsurd crap linger and you may not even realize.
My favorite thing that lingers is a quote from a Dictate Assembly talk "Doubt is the start of falling out."
Boy did that get me thinking. I was about 14 at the time and had been a double life specialist. Not only couldn't I check out something but I couldn't even begin to question? Yep, I didn't fit.
Hear that quote in my head all the time. Glad I heard it and listened.

Thanks Frank. He was related to my Dad. Just wondering really.
Going to Bethel was something held up with high honor before us as kids and having a relative to point to was great firepower for my Dad.

Sure, just like social security. Brilliant. Then they can dip into everyone's funds whenever they want. Just trust US with your cash.

"....have apostates who claim that "the last days" began at pentecost and cover the entire christian era promoted christian alertness?

That's a good one. Proof that true apostates run the place.

Hello and welcome! This situaqtion often goes down real fast and its hard to hang on. Your mind races through all your fears and it can really spin you. Slow down and take it one step at a time. You found a place where others have been through situations like yours so thats a good step.

OK, let me explain....
by dawg inso, the last few threads i've written have been about telling your families and friends how you feel; many of you have given me the reasons you don't speak out to your families, but i want to tell you the main reason you should.
please let me explain.... .
i keep on stressing this point because how it makes you feel, i'm telling you all, that for over 19 years, i let information about my thoughts out slowly, then the tipping point... at my uncle's funeral 2 february's ago, while listening to my family pontificate at dinner about who so and so is pioneering and the like, it hit me that i was sick to the core of them throwing their bullisi*t beliefs at me like i was inferior or something.

Dawg I feel you dude. I am out of time, its Father's Day so I have to get going for my family(no witness nothin' for my wife and kids). I have taken a big stand and it is a better way to go whether change occurs or not. They have no power over me, they tiptoe and I do not. Different circumstances justify different measures but there is a line that must be established. Talk more later.
