I find the far left to be much more saturated.

The right's obsession with gays
by jstalin init's pretty funny to me the level of obsession with homosexuality that many in the conservative right wing have in the united states.
i occassionally go to a news web site called world net daily, (www.worldnetdaily.com) which is a religious conservative news web site.
nearly every day they have articles on gays and gay issues (of course, always negative coverage).

No Emotion at Funerals
by DiscoSandy ini was a chaperone for my daughter's out-of-town volleyball tournament last weekend - got to meet another mom that had grown up in the same area i grew up in.
she proceeded to ask about my childhood, etc.
and i had to spill the beans on my jw background (i usually keep this to myself!

Candela. I have heard of this type of circumstance before. It has happened more often than I would care to think about.
No one in the organization ever wants to take responsibility for the high rate of depression amongst its followers.

Hi all
by SailAway ini have decided to join this forum after quite a long time lurking here (a number of years actually).. i have been out of the truth for a while and recently started to attend some meetings.
but i now think a bit more freely and wonder whether i am doing the right thing.
a cousin of mine regularly posts on here, didgeridoo in fact i have seen him today, speaking to him has made me decide to finally post on here, although i have my reservations whether i am doing the right thing.

Short of elders/MS why the silly microphone policy
by stillajwexelder inok - in our circuit anyway loads of brothers who get less than the national average hours can not do microphones etc.
now if you are short of elders it makes zero sense.
why not let every brother who is a regular publisher do mics/platform/literature/mags etc?.

I grew up in a congregation that is in a rural area and was always struggling to survive. At one point there were only two elders. It was like that for a long time. We had no mics. We substituted that duty for rat chasing or tending the fire in the winter. At times there would onl be like ten people in attendence.
Wow, I did not realize how bitchin' that was at the time. Probably since I was put to doing bible reading talks at like 7.

Why didn't Jesus write his own parts of the bible?
by Aphrodite inwhy leave the writing to inaccurate third parties who each saw things from their own perspective.
if his message was so important for posterity, why did he not write an accurate account of his message?

Sounds good to me. Church should have nothing to do with a building.

January 15th 1983 Watchtower
by Bring_the_Light inparagraph 19-21 are under the heading "fight against independant thinking".
the question box at the end of the article contains the question "what is an evidence of independent thinking, and what can help us to avoid it?
the clear answers from the paragraphs are that noting that "gods organization has made adjustments in the past, to point out their fallability is the result of "pride" and independent thinking can be avoided by remembering where you learned bible truths in the first place.

Yep. This was around the time period that my questioning teenage mind was starting to go on tilt.
If you don't understand or agree then you have an issue with humility. You are not meek enough. You must prostrate yourself before the human represetatives of the Lord and chastise your arrrogant thoughts. Why the apostle Paul would lead his body as a slave for cryin' out loud.
Remember..."doubt is the beginning of falling out." My favorite DC quote. It would have been at Dodgers Stadium.

Just love how she points out that Jehovah does this even for the disadvantaged. As if she has to point out that God is not big on discriminating against what she considers less of an indiviidual.
Isn't that just sooo big of Jehovah? ........UNREAL.....WTF

Those kind of prayers happen after a night of chili and beer.
