So you are trying to tell us you are a Virgin. ,,,,, lol
laugh it up, laugh it up. i've since remedied the problem. (turns out i needed a girl!)
hey guys,.
since leaving, has anyone done anything specifically because it was condemned by the society?.
- i went and got a tattoo (i had wanted one anyway, but really enjoyed it since it was a no-no...i'm getting a big'n next week...).

oh yeah! i do have a fairly serious gambling problem too! (not really...i don't have a good enough job to gamble too much. but someday, i will...it's a little goal of mine.)

As much sex as possible
i'll admit to getting drunk a time or two as well. i've always had as much sex as possible even before i left...which ended up being "not so much"...and by that i mean...umm...well, none.

- i tried smoking (didn't much care for it, but felt i ought to give it a go anyway)
- i grew a goatee (again, wanted this anyway, but take special pride in it now)
i was just curious. -- doogs
i just wanted to drop a quick note.
last thursday a good friend of mine jumped off of a freeway overpass and killed herself.
ironically it was the same overpass that just 5 years before i had stood atop and climbed the fence with similar thoughts in my head when my family had initially disowned me.
im so sorry for your pain.
thank you for this post. it is very timely.
a jw i have been debating with (who is df'd by the way) gave me the go ahead to send to him what i would consider times where the wt has lied or been totally dishonest with the membership, or just in general.
does anyone have any clear cut quotes from the wt that are obviously deceptive?
i already sent him a lot of info about 1874/1914, and also about some other stuff.
somewhere towards the beginning of Crisis of Conscience it talks about how the early Bible Students viewed rutherford (i think it was rutherford) as their Leader. it has a photocopy from the proclaimers book of a picture of rutherford with the caption "They knew he was not their Leader", and then Franz also includes multiple photocopies of very early publications showing pictures of rutherford with captions saying things like "They knew he was their Leader". i thought that was hilarious and obviously a blatant attempt to mask the truth.
it probably won't make a difference though...the stuff i think "proves them liars" the most seems to be the most easy for them to dismiss (i.e. UN stuff).
still recovering from the simon/wuss wildfire i started.
if we can get off politics for a while, i wanted to post this.
my ex-girlfriend who is a jw asked me about going back to the meetings and all that.
But they ALL rebelled against what was God's Organization at the time.
i think that's a great point. no matter what the current earthly proceedures (traditions) are, God has historically 'backed' those that question things and as you said examine things with reasonableness. the whole point of the bible is that man can't rule himself (at least, that's what i see), and God makes that clear by dealing with people that are not afraid to point that fact out (one of the main reasons Jesus came was to DESTROY the mosaic law, right).
i think your letter is great. very non-confrontational. good luck.

Hey, doogie, imagine going to Germany for a REAL Oktoberfest! Wouldn't that be a good time. Lotsa the good stuff for sampling. :)
mmm...free samples...(gurgle)...
yeah, i've heard the formaldehyde thing too. i think it was budweiser. crazy.
"Hey, it keeps corpses fresh and lifelike...why not our beer? What's the worst that could happen?..."

i'll tell you why:
the german purity law. no preservatives. which means no hangover. i downed a 6er last night and feel fantastic today. god bless the germans!
i defy anyone to find a better beer than beck's. (guiness doesn't count...it's in a category by itself: "beer that drinks like a meal." ah, if there's one thing the irish know, it's how to make a glorious brew!)
