while, i was a jw, i remember that they told us that when the number of jw who go out will be bigger than the number of new jw who enter, it will be the great tribulation.

yes, the figures are decreasing in the "Western" world but increasing in the "third world" following the same sales pattern as that of cigarrettes.

they do not go to war nor will they generally support it.. now, if i were to play the role of an apologist, i think i would just keep hamering on this point.

can I just say I've seen squabbling, back stabbing and even outright violence in the truth, once even on field service. The police were called many times to our house due to domestic disputes and hospitalisations were not un-common. Once, I called on a house opposite a ministerial servant's and they said, "if the rows them Jehovah's Witnesses have over there are anything to go by, I'm not interested." One brother threatened to "punch my lights out" on one occasion. One sister I know used to get into spoilt brat tantrums and knocked a game board we were playing up into the air 'cas she was loosing. And I've seen brawling on a football pitch between two brothers.
And my answer: well, you're bound to get one off incidents, we're all imperfect and we all come from different walks of life like Jesus' disciples. LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL

now i not an expert in science but i believe rainbows have occured every since since light and moisture in the air have existed.. that would be way before the alledged global flood.. my dictionary describes a rainbow asan arch of prismatic colors found in the sky oposite the sun and caused by refraction, reflection and dispersion of light in raindrops.. my dictionary describes rain this way the condensed vapor.
of the atmosphere falling in drops.. here's watchtowers definition of rain from the insite book page 728,. a vital part of the cycle by which water that rises into the atmosphereb as vapor from land and water surface of the globe and falls to the ground.....at an early point in the history of the preparation of the earth "god had not made it rain upon the earth "but" a mist would go up from the earth and it watered the entire surface of the ground.gen2:5,6;1:9-13. hmm,sounds like rain to me.. just to clarify: rivers existed due to a miraculous mist which came up every night and not due to rainfall raising the water table as it does now? In other words instead of water vapour rising up into the atmosphere and condensing to fall as rain, it just kind of mysteriously rose a few inches and condensed there?
So you've got water vapour evapourating and condensing in the same bit of space, just above the ground at the same time? -

To jay, I've been wanting to take up water skiing. but I can't find a lake on a slope!
p.s. are you really trying to say there werent rivers in the Garden of Eden? or am I taking people too seriously again? Even the bible stories book has a picture of a river and certain fish rely on their movements from sea to upstream to spawn for survival???To bgurl, yes that's right zippy, geoffrey, bungle, etc. Great stuff.
No, but seriously, this conversation has got me doing some research, (even if I was being wound up to start with) and there are some serious problems with the no rain - rivers and no rainbows scenario.

what when it reforms as something else (as it most probably will sooner or later)?
will they find another beast from somewhere else, or drop it alltogether?.

When the United Nations was brought into being from the League of Nations, they still managed to twist scripture to accommodate this.
Well, the UN has had some tough times over the last 10 years. What when it reforms as something else (as it most probably will sooner or later)? Will they find another beast from somewhere else, or drop it alltogether?
Do you know something else I find really laughable? That the short prison term several early bible students went through had been prophesied in Revelation. God help me! They must have felt they were SO important. Strange that the society still uphold this as true even though they have ditched most of what these men actually believed.

Guess what happened at McDonalds today!
by Bendrr inafter a long morning i was desparately hungry but too busy to go to a proper eating establishment.
so i settled for (gag) a fast-food joint to get my blood sugar back up, not to mention damage my wonderfully low blood pressure and cholesterol level.. as usual there is some trailer-park-dwelling ding-dong mommy there with must have been 5 kids wreaking havoc.

I absolutely love the McDonalds scene in the film "FALLING DOWN" where the guy shoots the place to bits. Great scene.
For those that haven't seen it, this guy asks for the breakfast burger or whatever, and it's about 2 mins past 11 so he can't have one. He gets a shot gun out and goes, well, ballistic.
