  Would God really bother with such insignificance ?

  there is a program on here at the moment called 'space' and last week was about the sheer number of stars.

  for each grain of sand on every beach on the planet there are millions or billions of stars.. if there was a god, that would make us smaller than something minescule sat on an atom.

  and yet they claim that he 'sent his firstborn son to die for us' (who incidentally created all this?)..

  ... i used to wondered about all the time when i was an active dub:.

  why is it that men who study with elders make ministerial servant and elder way ahead of others who have been reaching out for years?.

  why do circuit overseers spend all of their time with the spiritually strong and never follow (or set) a christ-like example of visiting those that 'need a physician,' the spiritally weak, like those in nursing homes and irregular or inactive publishers.. jehovah sent his number one son to the earth... the only-begotten.

  That was thought provoking (good job I'm not a jw anymore!)

  The hypothetical question I'm left with is:

  WHAT IF GOD CREATED ADAM AND EVE BUT NO ANGELS OR JESUS. HOW WOULD ADAMS SIN BE PAID FOR WITHOUT A RANSOM.

  (and I realise for the first time that I cannot see logic in Jesus' sacrifice at all)

  They follow the biblical principle "to he that has, more will be given... and to he that has little, what he does have will be taken away.

  Unfortunately, they dont follow the biblical principle of love.

  anything from a pint down the pub to our own convention?.

  i would really like to meet up with other ex-jw's, not necessarily to discuss religion.

  the norwegian branch of the watch tower bible and tract society of new york filed criminal charges against ex-jehovah's witnesses kent steinhaug and jan haugland of norway in 1997. the charges alleged that steinhaug and haugland posted copies of pay attention to yourselves and to all the flock, a confidential manual for elders.

  the charges were later dropped, and the volume is still available online.. http://www.christianitytoday.com/ct/2001/006/6.15.html.

  as a note, i might add it was the norwegian police who dropped the case - not the watchtower.

  I got caught up there reading the elders manual from the first link. I was trying to find out why at my judicial comittee one elder went off on one, with a barrage of rapid fire questions asking me if had smoked, owned pornography, committed adultery, gambled, and so on.
  Cant find any basis for this interogation.

  what do you consider to be the most stupid rules or tradition of the jw lives?

  im thinking about any kind of rule or regulative that only has one answer to the questions why:.

  The rules on "counting time" were the most pathetic.

  We had a territory that included lots of out-lying villages. So in order to count the time, we had to do some local return visits first and then travel.

  In our congregation you could only count time from the first door knock to the last.

  the local branch office coordinator, mr. kankaanpaa, delivered the final speech in the summer convention held in tampere, the third largest city here in finland, and demanded all the ex-jw's to return back to the org.

  suddenly he began to weep.

  when he got his emotions under control, he instantly returned to the tradiotional wt phraseology: threats, intimitation and almost name calling (you know, that apostate stuff).
