How Easy Was It To Leave?
by ballistic inwhen i was df, i actually wanted to return which isn't suprising when you look at their brain washing: * http://www.escapefromwatchtower.com/mind.html.
i think it took me a couple of years to fully get over it and now the scripture "like a dog returning to it's vomit" comes to mind.. i gather some people here came to their senses while still in the org.
did anyone actually find it easy to leave?.

Thanks for those, I just feel so lucky I got out, in effect, by being disfellowshipped.
I guess there are only 2 lucky moments in my life, when I won the sperm race against a million others, and when I somehow got disfellowshipped which made me come to my senses.
One thing... I prayed to God for help, I earnestly prayed for guidance as to what was wrong in my life, and weeks later I was disfellowshipped. I guess I should start praying again in order to thank God! -

Just by coincidence, the subject came upon another jw message board, with someone thinking of "going back" after their jw father died. Although it took me a long time to give it up, I guess there is a kind of "moment of realisation" or "point of no return" when it comes to leaving.

Need new drink!!!
by tattoogrl333 inok this has nothing to do with being a jw or anything of that nature but it is important to me and i need some help:.
here goes i have been drinking rum and coke (bacardi) since i can remember and finally realized that maybe it is contributing to my severly harsh hangovers.
so i went on a quest in search of a new drink.

With all these Khalua drinks, I have to bring in the BLACK RUSSIAN:
ice
1 shot khalua (you can use Tia Maria)
1 shot vodka
1/2 glass coke. And this absolutely lovely alcoholics version:
English pint glass 1/4 filled with ice
then fill to within an inch of the top:
1/3 pint khalua, 1/3 pint vodka, 1/3 pint coke,
then top with a creamy head of draught guiness (the idea is not to mix guiness with it, but just to have a creamy guniess head on top)
add two straws, an umberella and glace cherries.YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPPOINTED!

Firewall Security 4 research about society
by Celtic inany members considering setting up websites on or about the society and/or are doing research on the same may well want to take a look at this website:.
reccommended via a contact, this firewall pc security system is available at most reasonable cost or you might like to try the free download for a 30 day trial.. it basically enables you to become invisible on the net which could be quite useful and protects you against any hacker attacks or otherwise.. take a look, download time was about 12-15 minutes.. hope this assists some of you.. keep your chins up!!.

Black ice is also good. Norton also have an offering. All 3 companies offer a free 30 day trial. Personally, I like watching all the probes. I suppose it's almost as addictive as hacking.

LET'S MAKE A LITTLE WAGER
by You Know inperhaps you recall the instance in the bible where samson made a wager with the philistines that they couldnt guess his riddle.
as it turned out they wheedled the answer out of him by his fiancee, but the point is that they had a wager.
since the underlying assumption of the apostasy is that we are not living in the last days of this system of things, and that this world is not facing anything remotely like the biblical apocalypse, at least not any time soon, in the spirit of such antagonism, i would like to propose a similar wager.

I can just imagine the old criples on the Governing Body sitting on the edge of their Wheel Chairs reading the "Tribune" or whatever it's called looking at the "small picture" in the US and waiting on every word for signs of the end of the world.
I think coming from a small country, you come to realise just how big the world actually is.I was too far out... and not waving but drowning - Stevie Smith

How do you end a prayer?
by sleepy inheres something i've always wondered ,why do jw's insist that you have to say amen to conclued a prayer?.
of all the prayers in the bible i can't recall one ending in amen (correct me if i'm wrong).. anyway amen means "so be it" so why not say "so be it" at the end of your prayer or words to that effect?.
most of the prayers in the bible just end with nothing tagged on to the end.. so were does this come from?.

One day when I was at a meeting a big bug dropped off the ceiling into my eye which was shut and I rubbed my eye accidently killing the bug. Death by prayer I suppose?
Anyway, with a name like sleepy, I would think you'd want to shut your eyes?
