Faders are indeed a large army...
by undercover in...and i think it's starting to show.. i started a thread the other day about being hounded after several years of having successfully(?
) faded.
i've been taken aback a bit the recent developments but i'm making a new strategy...one that depends more on sticking to my guns and laying the cards on the table.

I know from the many people I saw come and go in North Carolina around Asheboro, Randleman, Seagrove, Lexington there is one heck of a boat load of people who have passed through the KH doors to disappear back out of it. I know there has got to be more than triple the one active ones out and doing well.

Crises of religion

Deist- believe that something started life here got it going then moved on. Does that sound like the Genesis project from STAR TREK?
Found this about an ex-jw turning Deist and thought it was good:

I am so sorry to hear of this, I know I am disabled and have had many surgeries on my legs and get SSD, it is always a fear of it being cut off.
The government isn't something that can be appealed too with need and emotion that is for sure. Facts are facts and that is a terrible situation to be in. Will she also lose her Medicare???? She certainly qualifies for assistence and they aren't denying that, it is too bad that they can't take it out of the ex-husbands money after all he is the one who did this to her.

I would say "an apostate is a person who disagrees with a religion they once trusted. Yes I am an Apostate to the Jehovah's Witnesses because they are a cult."

The meaning of "abstain from blood"
by voodoo lady inthis has been a fixation for me lately, mostly in trying to appeal to my mother to at least consider blood transfusions as an option in the most extenuating circumstances.
my attempts have fallen flat thus far.
we've discussed principles versus rules, and though she concedes that principles are in fact more important than rules, she reverses her stance when it comes to this particular issue, and rules become more important than principles.

You need to ask your mom about the use of hemopure, a blood substitute made from the red blood cells of cow's blood. You can find information on this at www.ajwrb.org You might find some trips on the web-site on how to talk to your mom. You need to consider what the Jews believed about blood and what the orginal language actually says.

Terry and All,
Something that has always puzzled me is why after Rutherford have the men in charge like Knorr, Franz and the so called governing body continue in this when it is obviously so flawed. Are all of these men so completely corrupt and jaded that they would go along with this obvious control Rutherford set up unquestioningly. Of course Raymond Franz did question and the promptly got rid of him. It isn't like they had some kind of governing body handbook they handed out back when the governing body convincing these men to follow along with it. Why haven't there been more of an uprising among the so called higher ups. Getting the leadership to buy into this bizarre thinking enough to convince others to follow it unquestioningly just seems weird. But if we look at other high control groups like the Latter Day Saints is equally strange from the outside. They have their secrets and they have their shunning practices for those to leave the religion too.
What is it in humans that would draw us like crazy to these kinds of secretive religious organization. I myself was in it for 30 years and now I'm out I am totally baffled as to why I stayed in it as long as I did. My husband back then and I both went into the witnesses in a troubled time in our marriage, and after I left him and the religion he continued to stay in it and I am free. It seems to click off something in certain peoples brains and fulfills some sort of need or needs we have that we believe can't be filled anywhere else. If one day the good feeling we got from it disappears still some stay in it fearful of leaving. I know I did, and was fearful for my kids.
Why does this even work today, it is impossible to keep all the witnesses off the internet and seeing things, so how is the JW organization still managing to show growth?????

Blood Question
by TD inas a semi-outsider, i've struggled at times to understand exactly when and how jw's believe the 'sin' occurs in transfusion.. specifically, at what point in the process does the 'sin' occur?.
for example, would a jw sin if they were to attach a small surgical tube to a hypodermic needle, put the tube in their mouth, insert the needle in a vein and swallow a mouthful of their own blood?.
note that by jw standards and rulings, the blood has not left the body in this scenario.

I found when I started really investigating the blood policy in 2001 they were very vague and just really didn't want to say anythng.
At the time my son died in 2001 from refusing blood for him they were allowing Hemopure to be used which was a new product that used the red blood cells from cow's blood to be transfused into JW's. I didn't even learn about this because they didn't make it know except to only the high ups. The hospital liason committee knew nothing of it in North Carolina at that time. They are dealing with the blood policy very slyly. Fact is they have made changes repeatedly over the past 40 years.
