clean the sockets. A week after my wisdom teeth were pulled, everything started tasting like rotten garbage. Eventually I realized that food got in the sockets and rotted. Miserable.

I've found the jws to be no different than the general population when it comes to materialism. My jw wife is very materialistic I believe due to her poor childhood. The congregations in our city are each different based on the part of town - the wealthier jws have the nice stuff. I've handled bankruptcies for several jws - financially irresponsible the same as anybody.

I agree, creationism is based on a belief system and can be taught in church. But, at least acknowledge that the science of evolution and the origin of the universe is full of holes.

Paradise/death
by carla incan someone clear this up?
in previous threads many of you tell how your family members truly believe that you will be destroyed and not make it into paradise.
this is repeated over and over, here and on other boards.

I'm a non-witness and I can't get my wife to admit that she believes I will be destroyed at armageddon and won't live in paradise. She gives the non-judgmental explanation of nobody knows, each will be accountable for their own life, etc. It makes me want to scream - IF THAT IS WHAT YOU BELIEVE THEN WHY ARE YOU DEDICATING YOUR MIND BODY AND SOUL TO THE ORGANIZATION?!!! WHY DO YOU FOLLOW TO THE LETTER EVERYTHING THAT THE ORGANIZATION TEACHES? WHY HAVE YOU ISOLATED YOURSELF FROM EVERY PERSON WHO IS NOT JW?!! WHY ARE YOU IN FIELD SERVICE TODAY? WHY DID YOU TELL ME THAT IF OUR DAUGHTER WAS IN THE ER AND NEEDED A BLOOD TRANSFUSION YOU WOULD NOT AUTHORIZE IT?!!! According to your religion, I'm a bad association. ADMIT IT. Admit that our daughter is being taught all of these things.

I'm skeptical as to whether your letter will cause any changes. A jw wife will not acknowledge that her religion can have any negative effects on the marriage relationship. She is taught that by being a good jw, she will become a model spouse that any man would appreciate. I'm going through divorce with my jw wife right now. If I ever remarry, the first criteria of my future wife is that she be non-jw.

You may get some obligatory consideration of your feelings, but she will have to check with her elders first. And the concerns of the organization and her concern for her own salvation will always come before your feelings. -

These same attorneys would file a lawsuit if a someone was racially profiled and searched. So, that's why they randomly search. Now, if you can't profile and search or randomly search, then you have to search everybody or you can't search at all.
