  Can we be honest?

  ok, seriously people, can anyone here say they honestly enjoy las vegas?

  what an utterly depressing place.

  Have you made what you consider to be life-long friends here?

  now that you have attended apostafests and gotten to know people over the phone or by email here at jwd do you feel you have made life long friends;you know the kind you'd expect to come to your wedding or to be there at your funeral - would drop in on for coffee if you ever happened to be in their part of the world?.

  or is it primarily just a forum of faceless entities who you appreciate the comments and support of online but don't necessarily feel an affection for or an urge to meet or further cement that friendship?

  I can't live with out my Buttlight!

  I promised her that I'll take care of her when she gets old....lol. I would too!

  Before I had a fictitious life, with fictitious friends etc.... Buttlight, is the very first friend I have had that I just started to be me!

  I love Buttlight, the drunken lush that she is - I love her!

  hi every one i am not sure if i am posting in the right place or not but just wanted to say a quick hello.

  i am a disfellowshiped (ex brother of 27 years), they did this to me nearly eight years ago after forming a commitee with two lying elders (one decent) who didn'nt like my father who was the presiding overseer at the time and stand in circut overseer.

  i was married for six years at the age of 19 and when i decided to have a break from her it all hit the fan and the lies started about me.

  what rules did you find, you couldn't help breaking as a witness?.

  i swore sometimes, got me and a mate drunk, copied software e.t.c (caesars things to caesar), celebrated a birthday/christmas or two...went against some stuff we were told not to do in the young people ask book...erm.... how about you?

  okay i've been fading for eight months .

  i do wedding photography and this coming weekend i am scheduled to do a witness wedding from my former hall .

  they booked last year before my fade, and surprisingly have not dropped me .

  I would be there in a heart beat, but however I made other commitments with a apostafest in WI on the 19th.

  REALLY, Why Do People Remain Jehovah's Witnesses???

  i think it's all about fear.

  they are always afraid of displeasing jehovah god, the elders, the circuit overseer.

  witnesses are always walking on eggshells, hoping that they'll be good enough to make it thru the great tribulation.

  I can think of a few reasons:

  Fear - Loosing your family over a religion you no longer agree with. Friends, Family, etc....wiped out forever isn't a comforting thought. Is it?

  Where? - Now that you lost every contact, where do you go? Much like a Kindergartener clinging on to his/her mother's leg because not knowing anyone, or being all alone.

  JW's(not all) are close minded, getting them to think for themselves is the difficult task - its a security blanket they have.

  Mama's boys are just as bad as mama's girls.

  So true! IMO -I happen to think a Mama's Girl is far worse than a Mama's Boy! Case in point "my sister", oh the horror!

  I am just glad that I'm a Daddy's girl! **holds out hand for money**(kidding)

  I agree with Confession here, it isn't the fact he is a "Mama's Boy" his actions are rude.

  If that's the way he wants to do it, then he can eat his dinner cold. Plain and simple.

  I have somewhat of a Mama's Boy(not complaining)

  I remember one argument I had with my husband, we were married for about 5 months - he happen to like that way his Mom ran the house. I on the other hand wasn't his mother, but I really tried to do what he was used to.(plus I was 19) However, I worked out side the home not to mention 2 jobs, so I couldn't handle everything.

  Anyway, we were grocery shopping, I picked out some apples and he put them back saying: "My Mom buys these apples, I want to get these" - I had it at that point, so I said "Well, I like Macintosh apples, I am getting this ...so...... Get off the Breast Milk!" People starred at us, and we started laughing! To this day it is one of our favorite moments.

  Look at it this way, he knows dinner is being served so let him choose whether he wants it hot or cold.

  Why would I try to abolish/change anything that would affect my lifestyle?

  Your conscience, maybe? However, who there has one? In other words if you had a conscience, would you or would you not take the free ride to hell?

  Much like having a sugar daddy/pimp if you ask me.
