My only JC meeting was for a "minor" offense. It was relatively painless but I remember this quote from the "head" of the JC. After sweating in the hallway for 20 minutes I was called back in and told.
"It is the decision of this committee to show mercy..."
I was put on private reproof. I felt lucky but could never figure out how it was their right to "show mercy".

Please Share your Experiences of Abusive Judicial Committee Meetings
by flipper ini had noticed on the board recently of several posters mentioning what they , or someone they know has gone through being brought before a jehovah's witness judicial committee - so i thought it would be good to share experiences so we all can get an idea of what has worked for some of you in dealing with it , and also methods to use when dealing with the elders , and it might open some lurkers eyes to the injustices suffered by many - which by the way usually isn't discussed in the rank and file witnesses .
many of you know my experience - so i will be brief.
long story short i was inactive for 3 and a half years , scripturally free to remarry , had not attended meetings for that long.

What is the best question to ask a witness

i would say why dont you have a book study anymore but that one is done to death... we had a witness recently and i asked for the latest jw only mag (he didn't realise i used to be in his cong... have i done that good a job at fading?
) it was a laugh to see the two of them struggle to come up with an answer.... ok lets here the best you can come up with, there has to be some better than mine, what question will leave them stuck for an answer...... .

I have this theory :
I think that they are already prepared to change the 144,000 doctrine in a major way. Either it's not a literal #, or maybe revert back to the 2 parts of heaven theory from way back. When this change is made sometime in the next five years they will need very close and tight control over the congregations. Eliminating small groups is the first step in that.

So I was thinking about the earthquake we had last week...

i woke up at 4:40 in the morning because the bed was shaking and the thought process in my head went along these lines, "the bed is shaking.

There's been lots of talk in my congregation about the earthquake. Lots of ooooos and aaaaahs about how we are SOOOO in the last part of the last days. Makes me sick to hear them so happy that these things happen. Some can't wait for huge natural disasters, despite the death and economic toll, to either A) Prove we are in the "last days" B) Assist in JW on JW relief to prove how loving and righteous they are C) Take advantage of people's emotional states to convert/recruit them.

I don't know either, I left after the talk because I could feel my emotions getting out of control just thinking about the study. My wife was very unhappy that I left. I'm going to catch hell for this in a couple of hours.
