Want to die? well, never. But I live my life with the thought that every day might be the last. Live so that I have no regrets, and I can die in peace.

My grandma
by Vivamus inmy grandma was a remarkable woman, with a sense of humour that could crack me up.
and she had the determination to make everything she started a success.
she never gave up, and fought for everything she hold dear.

Thank you all for your kind words. I really appreciate you're caring.
Because she was sick, I knew she would die soon. Everytime she got a little bit worse, I knew that had brought her closer to her end. So I had the chance to say goodbye, and tell her I loved her. I have no regrets, I said everything that needed to be said. And I know she died peacefully because I held her hand right till the end.
It is a strange thing to see someone die, I miss her terribly, but I also feel as if she has given me a gift by letting me witness her passing. It gives me peace.
Kisses.

A Sunburnt Country
by ozziepost indorothea mackellar's famous poem about australia speaks of a land of droughts and floods; a land that for most of its days is burnt by sun and fire.
it's been many months since there was rain on this great southern land and as mrs ozzie and i flew over it last week, we were saddened to see over the length and breadth, for hour upon hour, a dry burnt land.
such is our land this year.

Ozzie, I'll give you some of my rain, if you'll give me some of your sunshine.

Cheesy Question:
by Englishman inwhat's your favourite cheese, please?.
mine's gruyere, a swiss cheese that is absolutely scrummy.http://www.cheese.com/description.asp?name=gruyere.
of course, i still enjoy the noble stilton, danish blue and there ain't nothing to compare to a genuine parmesan with pasta.. but, gruyere takes some beating, i reckon.. englishman.

Karen, I wanted to thank you for what you wrote to me awhile back. What you said, about telling her that it was okay to go. It helped me, you gave me beautiful words to think about. Thank you.

Why did YOU want to live forever??
by Scully inwhat was it about living forever that appealed to you when you were a jw?.
was it the idea that you'd have all the time in the world to do whatever you wanted to do?
were you thinking about travelling the world and seeing it all transformed into a paradise?

It was more the thought that my family would live forever that did it for me. I hate it when the people I love, die on me. And in paradise, this would not happen.
In all honesty, eternity seemed a bit boring to me. Living under elder's rule did not apeal to me. And the thought that all these magnificent buildings, like the acropolis, would be destroyed, made me think there was nothing to visit in the new system of things.
