Hey Gumby, yeah, life is hectic for me, but not this easy Saturday afternoon
Well, ppl can make themselves believe in something they created themselves. Like .... a person lights a candle to remember a lost child, and that person sais to themsleves "i will keep this candle light forever to remember". Before you know it, the candle has to burn or it will be a major catastrophe (sp) the candle is protected and gets a holy status.... Your own mind can be you worst enemy at times.
I don't think it's an active thought men had "lets create the gods" .. more a concept, an idea, that spinned outta control and got to live a life of its own.

Well, at least there was this first person who invented a god, and others listened... Assuming now there are no gods, cuz otherwise there was this first person who talked to god. .....
I don't think the Watchtowers idea is a right one, its not an inborn desire to worship god, but i do think people have this need to know. A car crashes into mine, and my first thought is *damnit, why did this had to happen*, accidents, death, lightning ... why did it hapen and where is it comming from, can we prevent it, who/what is controlling it. When there are no scientific anwers to find, ppl turn to the mystic and to gods .... i firmly believe religion was created to make sense of a life ruled by chaos.

since joining the board and doing research, i have found out so many things about the organization and feel no longer compelled to preach or go to meetings.
my friends are not taking me missing meetings well, things are not going to be fun.
but this is my decision and i plan to fade away, because of this decision it leaves me with so many unanswered questions...... which bible is viewed as the most accurate?.
Well, i haven't really read the bible for a long time now. But if i feel the need to grab one, my choice will be The King James translation.
What i found really relieving after leaving the JW, was the fact that I didn't *know for sure* what the answer to every question was. This is where your journey of finding *your* truth begins. This is where you can search and investigate. You can ask all the questions in the world, and maybe you will find an answer, and maybe you wont. But your mind is free to make up your own mind. On the one hand loosing the feeling of *knowing it all* is a huge loss, but at the same time this is a gift beyond measurement. Use it.
