went to a couple of meetings and then the thrill was gone.

DJS YES!!! that small part of me that never stops thinking "what if they're right". Can't erase it out of my head hard as I try. Even with all the disagreements I have with their propaganda. smh
I'm sure this nostalgia will end soon. I recently moved and my Uncle(elder) gave KH in new area my address to call on me. So I've been constantly coming home to tracks and invites left on my door because I'm usually at work. Eventually they will stop coming by.

Back again since about 10yrs ago. Last year attended the International Convention in New Orleans and was feeling some type of way afterwards. Went to a couple of meetings and then the thrill was gone. Just went to the convention this past weekend in New Orleans and was ready to go by Friday afternoon. But stayed because of my mom needing me there with her.
Been contemplating just going back for the hell of it. But after re-reading some of the topics on here im rethinking that. Been visiting other religions over the years but always feel that sense of "comfort" at the KH even tho that same place has been the source of much pain. Anybody else ever went back just for the hell of it or missing "friends/family" from years ago? How was it? Oh forgot to mention I'm df, been out for almost 20yrs. Seems like every couple of years I get this weird urge to go back.
i haven't been here in a while........glad to see the site is still here.......just wanted to say hi and i have missed you all.. i have been busy changing my life for the better......i am in school now........going to be an automotive tech when i grow up.....lol.

I have these all the time and i chalk them up to just wierd coincindence but it happens a bit too often for me. I just stop telling people about them now.
people that i work with on the job think i'm such a nice person.
i guess we all try to show to others our good side.
in public i try as best i can to conduct myself in a better than civilised form and fashion.
WOW...I love when I saw this topic. Many people I work with think I'm the nicest, kindest person. I am but I hide my evil side very well. But I'm only evil or mean to those that deserve it. And alot of my evil thoughts are kept within meaning I dont act on it...but boy do I have some evil thoughts sometimes.

many years ago, gary burbank had a tv special here in cincinnati in which a number of jw jokes were made (like teenage mutant nin jehovah's witnesses).. and there was this funny moment from the weakest link.

I've seen many but the funniest to me was at the beginning of "Friday". When the 2 old ladies knock on the door and begin their "presentation"

i can count on one hand the number of times i have spoken to larc's sister since his death last fall... she will briefly chat if i make the effort to phone her - but doesn't call me.
yesterday, i did phone her - to tell of her of some family news that i felt she should know.
she told me they had spent the labor day removing wallpaper, that was already in the home when they moved in.

okay, well my mother called this evening and was all emotional about her one day assembly.
i was shocked she brought it up, as we just do not mention the religion anymore, but lately little things keep getting said at her conventions and assemblies that seem to be making this line something she wants to cross more these days.
what she brought up, was something i had not heard mentioned on here and i wanted some insight from people who actually heard it or knew more about it.
are maybe they might feel that with all going on in the news that some may feel "special" that the elders are taking time out to call on them and "feel the love" and want to come back because times are bad with all the wars and stuff...

The work of preaching will no longer focus on the neighborhoods of nonbelievers, but rather on trying to get those who have left (disfellowshipped, disassociated, and the inactive) to come back to the religion. Elders, Ministerial Servants, and spiritually strong publishers will be making an active effort to let those who left know, the preaching work is over and this is a sign of the end being ever more near. This will be their final warning, of sorts."
HMMM..I think there might be some truth to this..when I read it I was like OOOOOOO thats what's going on...Recently I was given the message thru my JW mom that both of my uncles that are elders are NOW AVAILABLE to answer any questions I might have after almost 9 yrs of me being df'd they're just now being available. I was like wtf at first but now I see...
So that might be part of the big announcement..."Those pubs that are "strong" may have new territory....da'd, df'd, and inactive ones....
