Incident with the Jehovah's Witness babysitter...
by garyneal inmy youngest daughter is so cute, she loves singing and loves being festive.
when i put up the tree, she loved saying, "it's christmas, it's pretty...." her babysitter, a witness from my wife's hall, lives next door to a neighbor who put up decorations in the yard like i did in front of our apartment.
when we leave her house, she would run next door to look at the "christmas" as she would say, "look, the christmas.

Why is the WT idea of personal responsibility so skewed?

if for instance a couple sneek away into the garden for a bit of smack and tickle - he is held responsible for this by the elders, even if he was unaware that it had happened.. yet a child is the sole responsibility of the parents, even if they are not there when a predator molests them.
(didnt the "defence" in the california cases revolve around the argument that the elders have no duty of care for children in the congregation?).

Yet a child is the SOLE responsibility of the parents, even if they are not there when a predator molests them. (Didnt the "defence" in the California cases revolve around the argument that the elders have NO DUTY OF CARE for children in the congregation?)
Why are the parents responsible and not the predator who invited the CHILD for some "spiritual activity?"
Why is responsibility not placed squarely on the shoulders of the adults who indulged in wrongdoing?
A few years ago there was a party at a hired hall. The word got out and there was a huge number of uninvited gatecrashers, who either did not know how to behave properly, or thought whatever I do it will be the mug who organised it who will be in trouble. Things got out of hand. The well -meaning Brother who organised it was dragged over the coals by the elduhs and was so hurt by the behavior that he no longer wants Da Troof.
Any other examples?

you know to keep any type of rebellion at bay before it starts.. have you ever woundered what many that are closely associated with the governing body are feeling about these new guys called the governing body right now with all this new light loved by the governing body,,i smell trouble a brewing for these guys right there at headquarters i'm sure thier dealing with everbody they meet they reflect this same attitude so they got to be making enemies..

They will continue to lose their "power " over the R&F witless.
Peoples expectations are different now. They dont want an angry genocidal God. More and more are saying "I dont want to worship such a monster." Even in the litterature God is not Mad when you sin, just "sad" (aww poor baby!)
People do not accept "because we say so " as a good reason for anything anymore.
If Jehoobie only wants us for what he can get out of us (evidence the discarding of elderly beth hellites in Spain and NY with no pensions or savings) he can go spin.
You mean God only loves us conditionally? The WTBTS is already dying, but nobody recognises it yet.

by Witness 007 inim amazed how going witnessing sisters who knew me for decades would sit only in the back seat on the way to the hall...to avoid any sex at the traffic lights!!!
and chaperons 1840's style are needed because two witnesses alone for 10 minutes would go at it like animals even after all the training watchtower articles and talks being jahs clean org.

There is a comet due to pass earth within 14 000 miles about Feb 15th. about 50m across. It will skim inside the orbits of our satellites. if it hits the atmosphere it will devastate an area of 700 km.

It Appears The Elderly Are More Taken Care Of Then Ever Before By The Elders
by minimus ini usually find fault with the religion but i must give credit when due.
in the hall my mom is in, they regularly check on her and assign different ones to visit and check on the elderly.. if there's a storm or an extremely cold day, they come by to make sure the elderly have everything they need..

It is a lottery with respect to these issues.
If your Mom is lucky enough to be in a congo where she has had friends for years, and genuinely kind nice guys at the KH then like any social club they will look out for one another.
Other kingdumb hells are fulll of self -seeking vengeful greedy venomous snakes and these are unfortunately the norm. My mother would have woken up to TTATT if she had been at the lousy congo I eventually ceased attending because I was sick to death of realising every week that I was not even a second class citizen.

144,000 before 1935?
by nolongerconfused ini've always thought about this but have never received an answer on how the wbts explaiend the phenomenon.... to my understanding, every member of the wbts had the heavenly hope...however, by 2 classes were created...the heavenly, and earthly hope.... does anyone know the number of jw's as of that famous assembly of 1935 where the earthly hope was revealed and imposed?.
what is the wbts explanation for the thousands of jw's who had heavenly hope now all of a sudden have the earthly hope?.
this leads me to one conclusion...how dare this or any other organization determine what your hope or believe should be...shame on them.

There were members even in the early twenties who believed the WTBTS, but did not want to go to heaven.
(I knew an old Bible Student, and she told me many tales of those days) Those who did not want to go to heaven were known as "JOnadabs". It was the identity of these that was moot. Until 1935 the great crowd was also a heavenly class, who only got into heaven by trials and great tribulation, because they had not made a clear stand for Christ the King. ( See "Light" 1931)
Paul wrote that every work that is worthless will be burned up, but the one with faith who loses these will be saved "yet it will be as by fire."
Of course we can all guess the REAL reason for Freddie and Da Jug dreamong that one up cant we?
