  I particularly loathe ths revealing whine:

  Their constitutional "right to free exercise of religion" will be under threat if "a duty to protect children is imposed."

  Why would it need to be imposed - shouldnt they do that already?

  What about murderers? (MInd you remember the infamous "Murder Lettter" : they knew a killer was at the Kingdumb hell yet they said not to report him to the authorities. But to form a JC because he had been seen smoking)

  Then they have the GALL to find fault with the jury because it unanimously found that Candace had indeed been the victim of abuse and inappropriate actions because:

  "Only the plaintiff testified that Kendrick acted inappropriately - no one else heard or knew of it"

  try another crime:

  "Only the dead body showed the killer acted inappropriately - no one else heard or knew of it"

  Obey the eight ignorant swine at Crooklyn and be blessed.

  when we got to paragraphs 10,11 with the reference to the box at the top of the page - is your teaching up-to-date?

  the conductor asked for an explanation of what the current 'bible truth' was.

  for the first one, 'this generation (matt 24:34) absolutely nobody raised their hand!

  New Rooming Arrangement for some district conventions in the UK - what are they up to?

  so i missed this letter below being read out last week - i got a look at it from the notice board this week.. from what i heard, this announcement was not received entirely positively as such, but there were apparently one or two for who this is a bit annoying.. staying at hotels for the district convention is nothing new here - many are used to staying at the same hotel/b&b/campsite every year, and get quite friendly with the owners.

  but this year, it looks like not only do we have a new location for our district assembly (glasgow - the s.e.c.c.?

  ) but we are being told what hotel to stay at, supposedly to make things cheaper.. what i can't understand is, if this is really for the benefit of people, why didn't they do this years ago?

  They prolly changed the venue to one a hundred miles away to force people who had regular lodgings to go there and pay over the odds.

  And - as pointed out - the WT, acting as a travel agent booking accommodation gets its % for those attending the A$$embly.

  And as regards jehoobie micromanaging his servants? Why would he - the Gibbering Buddies do it!

  Lots of discoveries in the last 11 years only confirm evolution.

  Precambrian rocks exist which show life had already been existing for millions of years.

  Bear in mind too that the precambrian geology was even less favorable for fossils than today. Modern genetics also confirm evolution.

  washington -- a narrowly divided supreme court ruled monday that police can collect dna from people arrested but not yet convicted of serious crimes, a tool that more than half the states already use to help crack unsolved crimes.. this dna sample will of course go into a huge database similar to fingerprints.. .

  There are many mistakes done in the DNA labs.

  Accidental mislabelling, contamination. The courts have trusted DNA evidence too much. There was an expose of the misleading information given by firms doing the tests in the New Scientist magazine about three years ago.

  i've run into a problem and have some questions..... i'm sure most of you have seen the video on jwstruggle's youtube channel regarding my book i wrote in 2002 and the problem with the elders on getting it published.

  well after my contract ran out in 2003, i retained all the rights and they told me that all left over copies would be destroyed except the few legal copies being sold on amazon, barnes & noble, alibris, etc.. so, because of the video someone asked about my book and i said that it was no longer available, they wrote back and told me it's all over the internet.. come to find out, a large canadian publisher bought out my original publisher in 2007 and 'accidently' downloaded the original file onto their computers and started selling my book [hard copies & digital] without a contract.. my question is, anyone know what the going asking price for a quiet settlement is for this type of thing?.

  i know i'm not dan brown or clive cussler and probably won't get millions, but i don't want to get short-changed either.. thanks.

  Offering to settle out of court can sometimes bring a decent compensation.

  If the publisher doesnt want to fight in court, they at least have some idea of how much it could cost if it goes that far, and make a settlement, which will save them cash.

  The only half decent JW joke I know:

  The butcher goes for his haircut. The barber says "I am retiring, so this haircut is free to thank you for your custom all these years."

  The next morning the barber goes to open shop and the butcher has left a basket with steak and other meats, and a well wishing note.

  The baker goes for his haircut. The barber does the same, and next day he finds a basket with cakes and bread in it and a kind note.

  Then a pioneer goes for his haircut. The barber says "I am giving you a free haircut to thank you for your custom all these years."

  The next morning the barber goes to open shop and there is a queue right around the corner of pioneers waiting for their free haircut.

  i have some family and friends still in the organization.

  i don't actively seek updates - my lovely contacts provide me with them unsolicited.

  so far the updates have been reliable and confirmed sooner or later by subsequent developments.

  I loathed having to get dressed up, and travel to a measly 45 minute meeting that was scheduled partway through the evening so the whole night was trashed.

  Also if people are not so close friends, they are more likely to be willing to inform on you to the secret police - elders, rather.
