It has been said here so often:
"I'd rather have answers I can't answer, than answers I can't question." Try questioning the elders on the answers from the Watchtower - see how fast they kick you out.
new member here so don't attack :d here is a couple questions i have been contemplating lately.. .
if jw isn't the right religion, then which one is?
or is it basically believe in god, the bible and you'll be fine?.

AS FAR AS THE "RIGHT RELIGION" QUESTION -
Go waaay back in history, before there were Jews or anybody worshipping an omnipotent vicious desert Sand Fairy.
Religions did so many different things, depending on where people lived. In ancient Greece there was a whole panopoly of gods to choose from - Zeus, Minerva, etc. In India, hundreds of thousands of gods to worship, as you saw fit. In Africa there was and still is animism - spirits in trees rocks streams and the wind. Egypt had Anubis, Osiris, Nut, Rah and many others.
If none of these religions was the right one at that time, who is to say that in our time there is any more likely to be a right one.
Have no fear - time passes, and the world unfolds, along with your life the way it should. Whatever choices you make your life will happen anyway. Use it with self-respect and compassion for all living things. For some things there is no real answer. The monotheistic religions claim to have it, but none of them can agree with each other.
The JWs are only "united" in so much as they are forced into conformity, by means of fear, the DF stick where they cut you off from loved ones, and death threats of Armageddon. Take these away and there would be a lot of open dissent and schisms. In E. Europe there are Jehovahs Witnesses who say that Brooklyn Bethel and the GB are all apostates, and they refuse to follow them.
the anglican archbishop of kenya, eliud wabukala has declared that the terrorist attacks in kenya by al shabaab is part of a global war on organised religion.... speaking to a men's association conference yesterday he blamed "militant promotion of atheism" and called on all religions to unite against the threat.. how long until the geniuses at brooklyn towers quotes him as an authority on world affairs, as opposed to the paranoid buffoon that he is?.

He is as much of a fool as the 7 Popes in Crooklyn...

This "understanding of Christendom as the HOLY PLAce changed in the 90s. The disgusting thing is now DISGUSTING to Christendom, because it is standing in a place CHRISTENDOM considers holy. Still an antitypical interpretation.
I dont have any of their litterature now - so somebody else will need to do the search on this. It was a Witchtower study.
"IT IS ALL SHITE": the mantra of exJWs who wish to become MORE unfaithful
in fort worth, texas around 1959. gradually i became aware of the argot.
special, private language).
jw's had these phrases they used over and over again.. upon first hearing, these words and phrases stood out as odd, weird or awkward.. however.
"extemporaneous witnessing"
"incidental" witnessing "
"The Brothers were further HAPPIFIED when"
"Mother KNows Best"
"Loathesome venereal diseases"
"New Truth"
"stay alive until seventy five"
"homosexuals have not been 'SCARED STRAIGHT' by the threat of AIDS"
what song would you dedicate to the wt if you knew they would be listening?
put the title or post some of the lyrics for those of us that may not know it.
first thing that comes to my mind.. are the following... .
Somebody here did a great rewrite of "We are JWs", with the refrain "We're no longer Witnesses" its on a thread somewhere.
Or a song for jehoobie when he feels Saaad. "Do you really want to hurt me?" by Boy George.
one witless i know actually said "i really like brother lett - his face is soo expressive, the eyebrows go up and he uses his lips to enunciate every word clearly.
and he speaks slowly so it is easy to follow what he is saying.".
another said "iwas so excited after watching the new tv channel.

Another said "Iwas so excited after watching the new TV channel. I was awake half the night. God's organisation has embraced 21st century technology to spread the Truth more efficiently than ever before!"
Isnt the slow speaking actually both insulting and patronising?
"Our words might be hard to understand because they speak of deep things" either that, or they know most of the sheeples are too dumb and have a mental age of nine.
does anyone have the link to dl the wt library?
i was looking for some mag from the 1900s and see that the jw org site only goes back to 2000.
"WatchTower Reprints" has the mags from 1879.
after i posted the "1969 kingdom interlinear translation" pdf, my friend (anonymous), was kind-hearted enough to provide us with a "searchable" pdf of the kingdom interlinear of which the download link is listed below.
this is the only "searchable" pdf of the 1969 kingdom interlinear on the net that i am aware of.
anonymous knows that there are many "master researchers" coming here to this forum and their time is valuable.
All the books of the Rutherfraud Era, from "Harp of God "(1921) th "Children (1941)" are on a searchable CD called "Rutherford's Rainbow."
If you have it you can compare the lies and revisionism to do with older Witchtower teachings found in recent litterature.
One that still amuses me is that in one Biography article a man claimed to have been moved when he read in the Harp of God that Christs invisible presence started in 1914! (HOG *wash*) actually puts it as 1874, not changed untill 1928 to 1914. Too obvious and easy a fact to check for it not to be a deception on the part of the writer.
for anyone who may have looked at, or attended the wt study for this week.
the first two articles of the magazine in subject use, in my opinion, the word "legal contract" too often.
anyone noticed this?
STA - the Witchtower has said that baptism is entering into a legal contract - dont have the litterature to find the quote unfortunately.
However, since this is the case, it means that those baptised whilst minors, can legally demand that their baptism be annulled, since in the US minors cannot enter into legal contracts.
Minors also cannot donate gifts to corporations, so there might be a case for demanding the return of all contributions given whilst you were a minor.
This is all prolly part of a drive to ensure that the sheeples are guilted into giving the funds they promised.
