  I think about JWS who committed suicide days before the new light on resurrection of those that killed themselves...

  In other words, nowadays that boils down to just doing what the WTS says at the time even if it isn't true.

  Bit like vaccinations, transplants, not agreeing with the superior authorities (God, Gov,) or Sodom and gomorrah, ain't it.

  Is the fate of the men of Sodom dependent on which flip of the flop the FDS teach at the big A??

  According to the "New Light " on sheep and goats, NOBODY is judged as unworthy of a resurrection if he dies before Christ sits down on his glorious throne. The judging is done in situ not in retrospect. Yet the WT 05/01/05 p. 22 says to JWs:

  "We realize that should we die before Armageddon, a continued course of conduct displeasing to Jehovah could put us in the same position as those who have no prospect of a resurrection."

  So a non witness in this time of the end can murder, rape, mug, child abuse, blaspheme, scream "NO" to the JW at his door, and if he dies 5 seconds before Christ sits down, he has not been judged a goat and will be resurrected (and have no choice but to believe)

  Yet a JW who displeases Jehovah (actually just doesn't do exactly what the WTS says - ie: MORE more MONEY $$££$$££$$££$$££ - lie to themselves etc) says, will die forever.

  Why? They say that only those alive are judged as goats!! Except dead JWs, of course. I smell Matthew 23:15 - "Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because you traverse sea and dry land to make one proselyte and when he becomes one you make him a subject for Gehennah twice as much as yourselves."

  What will happen to all those who died in the 1950s with no prospect of a resurrection in the new light of that day?

  Do you think I'm right - what have I missed?

  Who else is not going to the memorial for the first time this year?

  well, it's going to be the first memorial i'll miss out on.

  no big deal, but i guess it has to be considered one of the final stages of "apostasy" :-).

  i remember i used to see some df-ed people at memorials.

  I missed my first one last year.

  As it was drummed into me that the M. was only for the annointed and we are just onlookers it seemed pointless. (Yet Christ said NO-ONE would have everlasting life unless he "eats my flesh and drinks my blood)

  A bit like in India where the Bollywood movie stars and glitterati have fabulous parties behind barbed wire electrified fences to keep out the hordes of poor looking on with hungry eyes.

  Spent the evening having a great time with my brother who saw the light years ago.

  The Governing Body's Cruel Treatment of the Elderly

  what happens to a person that has given a major portion of the thier life in decades of full time service at bethel or as a circut or district overseer and they get caught not beleiveing the teachings of the wt?.

  will the governing body live up to its moral obligation to take care of them in their old age?

  after all these people have claimed a vow of poverty, and have put very little money aside for retirement because they served the organization full time and had no money to put aside.

  There was an old man in his nineties mentioned on a thread here, who expressed a doubt about 1914 invisible coming who was disfellowshipped. he had no family as far as I remember and he died alone in a nursing home.

  Maybe someone can remember. I spent so much time here when I first lurked I went goggle eyed.

  When is the real date for the memorial

  ive heard it is not actually march 23 but is the night of march 22. i am asking becuase im just going to celebrate it on my own but i would like to try and do it on the correct date.

  if anyone knows the correct date it would be much appreciated as i know the witness date for the memorial is out to lunch.. ticker

  I had always thought that the date was worked from the Vernal Equinox.

  Memorial night is the first night of the first full moon after the equinox.

  My diary for this year was bought at a cheap remainders shop and does not tabulate the waxing waning and full moons. Maybe someone can check and post this info?

  Whenever I checked this in the past the WTS date was always out by a day or so at least.

  How would a JW handle this? 587 proved correct date for fall of Jerusalem

  so i put it out to you who believe the wtbts is the agent used by god's channel on earth based on the belief that in 1919 (3 1/2 years after the gentile times ended in 1914, per pastor russell) they were appointed the fds.. what if it was proved that not 607, but 587 was the date jerusalem was destroyed?

  would that affect your faith?

  would it matter that the teaching of 1919 turned out to be false?

  many opponents of the wtbts have published information saying that the wts forbade organ transplants, and the reason given was that the wts said it was equal to cannibalism.

  I am so grateful for your extensive coverage of this issue with supporting quotes.

  I am printing this out now, and intend to use it to alert people as to how the WTS cleverly manipulates and controls peoples's thinking so completely they deny it is happening (Like you do)

  The 1980 article would not have been necessary if JWs were already accepting transplants regularly, and is an example of how WTS pulls the rug from under the rank and file while insisting "we never explicitly told you to do that. So it's your own fault!"

  They did the same over 1914 1925 acupuncture, their spiritual diagnosing machine (see www.watchthetower.com)

  How can I ever show my gratitude to you, you loyal little toaster.

  Oh! I know - you can be disfellowshipped for visiting these sights. Take my advice: stop coming here and hold onto your everlasting living death.

  this morning after reading some threads, i thought ... how could god logically expect man to grow closer to him as time keeps rolling further and further away from the miracles of old.. haven't seen a burning bush or nothing in a hot minute.

  God did give a sign about six years ago, worldwide, Hindus simultaneously reported that their statues of Ganesha, and others were absorbing the offerings of milk poured on them

  As expected what was seen with real eyes was denied or explained away.

  Funny that it happened within days of the Indian Government initiating a project to eradicate superstition in that country.
