  Not surprised about the porn admission.

  The brothers are seing this filth for what it is, and by looking at pictures and films of it inducing revulsion vomiting and loathing for ungodliness. (not)

  In spite of Paul saying "the things they do would be shameful to relate" or "let not any sort of uncleanness be spoken of amongst you" they print information in studies which put ideas into young peoples heads, and that if I sat next to a kid on a bus and read it to them I would be arrested.

  Of course I am so happy that someone from the FDS visited a brothel to find out what goes on. Now I don't have to. Pity my contributions paid for his trip...

  Keep it up WT. Plenty of little minds to corrupt. (Do you think these writers get off on describing this?)

  The concept of ""LIFE FORCE"" is not found in the bible.

  True, some have said it is what is referred to by hebrew 'Ruach' or the greek 'pneuma.'

  But is this idea for christians?

  Note that the concept of life force only became widely used during the 19 century when atheistic scientists peered into their microscopes and saw only clear jelly. Lacking humility , when they saw meiosis occurring, rather than praise the wisdom of God in causing this and directing it by his invisible angels, they insisted it must be some abstract unproven concept called life force that made clear jelly divide and grow without any intervention from a loving creator.

  Exalting the impersonal philosophy of evolution these wicked intellectuals then declared themselves masters of their own fate. As Romans says they "gave themselves up to disgraceful sexual appetites."

  Therefore be wary of the mere theory of "life force" it could result in unwary christians indulging in healthy sexual practices or worse masturbation, which some have shown leads to homosexuality.

  William Draper probably had a properly described skin condition found in some dark races. Can't remember the name, but the skin stops producing melanin.

  At first the patient presents with lighter splotches on the skin. Some never go beyond this stage. Some end up entirely devoid of pigment in the skin.

  Michael Jackson claims to have it, but I cannot remember the name.

  i have been out if the jw's since i was 18 and i moved clear across the country.

  i moved back into my hometown around 3 years later, and promptly got kicked when i was down by the jc ( who lied about their reasoning.. but that is a different thread entirely!!!!).

  so needless to say i no longer have a family of any kind.last night i was in the grocery store and noticed that a woman was passing by with her cart and sort of half smiling / half sad looking at me.

  Can someone help me to understand?

  i am very new to this whole "religion" and although i have pulled up some information on jehovah's witnesses, i can't seem to get my arms around it.

  the reason i have come here is because my father has been doing bible studies and readings for about 2 years now and over the last 6 months to a year he has been someone very different from who i used to know.

  it all started with a near fatal car accident and then with my sister getting involved with drugs and running away with her boyfriend.

  Whilst pretending to answer the original question this non-answer actually takes the hidden step of rephrasing it to address another issue:

  "Why would any witness NOT say it's okay to have a good career."

  Remove the NOT -

  "Why would any witness say it's okay to have a career." -

  That is Sirona's point: they dont say it is okay.

  The unprinted propaganda from the platform is that educated people don't swallow their statements unquestioningly. If you are well off you may be materialistic or selfish, and stumble the brothers.

  Your father sadly has not reached the point where he sees that the most greedy money grabbing people in the congregation are those preaching contentment with sustenance and covering, whilst climbing the property ladder and ripping people off them selves. - a bit like the Governing Body building luxury flats they can sell for a fortune when the end of the world is imminent, and moving their sorry *** of to beautiful apartments at Paterson New Jersey.

  Hiccup - you will never be young again, don't put your life or career on hold for the sake of your Dad.

  OT vs. NT

  who here has had or still has problems trying to equate or harmonize the old testament with the new testament?

  i do and i always have had a very hard time accepting some of the things in the old testament, etc.

  incest, murder, killing of innocent people, murdering children over petty issues, men having 100's of wives, all the idols that were present in the old testament temples(cherubs and golden bowls, excetera excetera), the seemingly merciless nature of god toword many while yet forgiving others for grave sins such as adultery, or the delivering of punishment to innocent people in order to discipline the sinner(example-david's sensus of the israelite nation in which they were destroyed not him).

  The first century Jews according to Bertrand Russel wanted a religion that could give them a feeling of inner superiority despite obvious oppression and failure.

  Along comes someone with total escapism. The times were right for it. Interestingly (AAAH WTspeak) the Mithras cult taught almost identical doctrines to early Christianity, and was very popular in the Northern empire. Only difference was that the lamb of god was a bull.

  This difference between the eastern way of thinking and western is still seen today when you compare how educated greeks think as opposed to educated arabs.
