i have had requests to add an article about beards and jehovah's witnesses.
it is interesting that there is virtually no statement that says a witness cannot have a beard, yet universally they do not have beards.
i have scoured quotes from all the threads on jwn, all references to beard on the cd watchtower library, and copies of elders letters that i have.
it is hilarious that in an earlier article scriptures were used to explain why we know Jesus didnt have a beard. Later the same scriptures were used to show why jesus had a beard.
This whole issue is as ridiculous as that of the Alpha and Omega - in 1976(??) it jumped from Jehovah to Jesus and back and forth for several months.

Tying this in with other statements in the book, it became impossible to dismiss 1975 as mere speculation, even though they admittedly never said Armageddon will come that year. They never siad Armageddon will come in 1914, but they did say the battle of Armageddon will end in 1914 - with all that implies.
Words like - evidently, apparently, logically, reasonably, appropriate are all cues for the gofors to swallow the particular piece of crap the Slave excretes..

The blood issue obviously influenced the outcome, but what surgeon gives a routine low risk operation then had the patient haemorraging?
Plenty of surgeons kill patients every year through their own incompetence, never mind JWs bleeding to death.
Like in the old days: " the patient survived successful surgery for breast cancer, but died two days later."
as a kid growing up in the uk we used to play 'cowboys and indians' and watch high chaparal and bonanza along with other cowboy films.
later, in the 70's kung fu would be shown with caine going through the 'old west'.

Maybe you were not here a few years ago when Simon had decided to shut down this site, as he was receiving death threats and insulting emails and comments.
This board is maintained by unpaid volunteers, they have jobs, families, and friends and lives to lead. have you volunteered to be a moderator - perhaps your equally dedicated efforts would make this site into something you could personally approve of and recommend.
You will probably find that you are then condemned for being controlling and a censor by indignant posters.
Many posters have come and gone over the years... do you think your negativity will be missed? Will this site be missed if Simon, Lee Elder and others decided they want to spend their EQUALLY "precious" time doing something other than maintaining this board - because of comments like yours??
AND Terry - I agree your talents are much appreciated here, but you are a good writer, wasted on some members -and should be making some cash for yourself in the outside world.
i just finished watching the recording of the talk at the annual meeting that re-explains gog of magog.
i caught something not previously talked about, that i can recall.. gog of magog is thought to be a coalition of nations that attach god's people during the great tribulation.
this is from ezekiel 38 & 39.. gog and magog in revelation 20 represents those with the same attitude as gog of magog.. thus, the new teaching (maybe not new, but i'll have to research this) is that gog in ezekiel is not the same as gog in revelation 20. two different gogs, happening about a thousand years apart.. .
Look at the "Gog of Magog" bit in the Noolit "God's Kingdumb" book - still says it is Satan as afar as I can tell...
