If an upset person does not work at controlling his emotions and making peace with his brother, a grudge could develop. There have been cases when a Witness asked not to be assigned to a certain Congregation Book Study because he did "not care for" some Christian or family attending there. How sad! The Bible says it would be a defeat for Christians to take one another to worldly courts, but would it not be equally a defeat if we avoided a brother over a past slight to us or to some relative? Do our emotions reveal that we put blood relationships ahead of peace with our brothers and sisters? Do we say that we would be willing to die for our sister, but our emotions so move us that we hardly speak with her now? (Compare John 15:13.) God tells us pointedly: "Return evil for evil to no one. . . . If possible, as far as it depends upon you, be peaceable with all men. Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but yield place to the wrath."—Romans 12:17-19; 1 Corinthians 6:7.
I always wanted to go to the cool book study !

Most religious organizations have produced bad fruitage. It is not the fact that groups are organized that is bad. But many have promoted forms of worship that are based on false teachings and are largely ritualistic instead of providing genuine spiritual guidance; they have been misused to control the lives of people for selfish objectives; they have been overly concerned with money collections and ornate houses of worship instead of spiritual values; their members are often hypocritical. Obviously no one who loves righteousness would want to belong to such an organization. But true religion is a refreshing contrast to all of that. Nevertheless, to fulfill the Bible’s requirements, it must be organized.
Heb. 10:24, 25: "Let us consider one another to incite to love and fine works, not forsaking the gathering of ourselves together, as some have the custom, but encouraging one another, and all the more so as you behold the day drawing near." (To carry out this Scriptural command, there must be Christian meetings that we can attend on a consistent basis. Such an arrangement encourages us to express love toward others, not only concern about self.)
Who would have thought it would be so much fun to quote scripture to jaydubeeyas.
i'm curious, because my brother was up there for 20+ years and he never mentioned anything about it.. then i read on here how there were suicides by people jumping off buildings and such.
.

if the "truth" keeps changing shouldn't they call it "in search of the truth"?
an orange is always an orange, and apple always an apple they do not change.
so how is it "truth" can change?
my mom told me that at her sisters kindom hall, before the annoucement was read.
the po said "friends this letter from the governing body will emphasize why you have.
to be at all of the meetings.
My mom says the governing body must know something big is about to happen.
She also says there is going to be food shortages because the farmers won't be able to pay for gas to work the fields.
Hearing about high gas at the kingdom hall really got her bent.
JW workmate says "How did you know about the bs change" I told him a "P.O. told me" (not a lie ha).
I then told him about this web site and ajwrb. His dad is a P.O. and on the hospital liason commitee.( if your reading this j.b. hi)
He said "he thinks the society is preparing them for the time when things are so bad that they won't be able to meet together."
JW's are simple, naive and gullible, very excitable people.
God did I really think like this years ago.
back in 1959 i became best friends with a fellow who was instrumental in my becoming a jehovah's witness.
yesterday i attended his mother's funeral.. from the time i was 12 years old i became a part of johnny's family and got to know his mother, jennie, very well.
in fact, she was more instrumental in convincing me there was intellectual merit to the reasoning process of consulting the bible and drawing jw conclusions than any of the arguments johnny and i had.. fast forward a bit.
Thanks for sharing.
Of course you know what their conversation was after they talked to you.
Well, you know, this might be the very thing that turns him back to Jehovah blah blah blah.........
hello, i've been disfellowshipped for almost six years and it's still hard not being able to communicate with them.
i talk to my mom once a week, but my dad won't pick up the phone to talk to me.
i have 3 brothers and 6 sisters.
Welcome to the nut house.
You don't, it's unatural.
It sucks having family members stare at you like a deer in headlights.
Because you aren't the only one hurting, they are hurting too for not having you in their lives.
All this hurt because of a religon "religon is a snare and a racket".
jesus said to imitate him not god.
in the us the only increase comes from immigrants.. q (6) what can we do if we cannot move to where the need for kingdom proclaimers is greater?
imitate jesus' attitude toward people.
How grateful we are that "Blondie" provides Bible-based comments to help us maintain unity in our teaching and accomplish our work as apostates! LOL
7 But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. 8 This is why it [a] says:
"When he ascended on high,
he led captives in his train
and gave gifts to men." [b] 9 (What does "he ascended" mean except that he also descended to the lower, earthly regions [c] ? 10 He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe.) 11 It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, 12 to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
Please JW's try harder to fully imitate Jesus, but then we'll lose all those over 33 years old.
Ooooh well !
jw's believe in two resurections the heavenly (spiritual) and earthly (physical).. jesus died and was resurrected as a spirit.. therefore the 144,000 can look back on this event and have faith that.
the resurrection will happen.. the earthly resurrection never has happened as taught by jw's.
how can the great crowd have faith in the resurrection.
What the JWs teach is a re-creation, not a resurrection, of a person.
What's the difference? As long as the recreation is exact.
Why should anyone look forward to some re-creation of oneself in the future?
To live again.
Can one really expect to experience what that future being will experience?
Don't understand what you mean. All I am trying to say in this thread is the 144k type resurrection actually happpened, Jesus. The Great Crowd resurrection never happened. ( yet?) Two types of faith are required.
