Memorial compulsory for "respectful observers" ?
by sparrowdown inmaybe i am ignorant but why why why pray tell.
if i am not jewish and not of the 144k why is it necessary (compulsory even) for me to attend the memorial ?.
what is the scriptural precedent?.

But...once you drop the filter of xianity, why is this even an issue?
There are lots of ceremonies you go to just observe but not participate in.
Inaugurations, weddings, baptisms, graduations, etc.
If you observe these events you actually see and observe something.
Weddings; vows made, rings exchanged,
baptisms; person gets water on themselves one way or another,
graduations; diplomas are handed out.
What exactly do you see and observe when attending the memorial?
With JW thinking shouldn't it actually be observing and seeing an annointed one drinking or eating the bread?

Patterson New York JW Tourist Destination
by Pete Zahut ini saw a photo on facebook of a jw couple i know, apparently you can now get your photo taken with the stars of the jw animated children's videos, at patterson.
i've tried to share it here but it isn't showing up.. basically, you stand in different cartoon scenes of the door to door activity, holding a bookbag and the hand of one of the children's characters from the viedo.
the houses are pastel colored, the cartoon brothers are wearing brightly colored shirts and ties , no jackets.

It's funny how the JW's seem like androids to me anymore.
The older elder reminds me of many elders they always have a stupid little smile on their face.
A smile that you would like to smack off.
The ending made me lol.
It looked like the older elder was thanking Jehovah because she was finally bringing some cookies out.

org answers the important question that so many have... are jehovah's witnesses a cult?.

Name one group that admits to being a cult, none, therefore they do not exist obviously.
We don't follow a leader!!!

Interesting, I never heard of them before apparently they are a registered charity.
I guess if it's private they can do whatever they want.
It just seems odd that employment and residency is exclusive to Jdubs,
but then again what "worldly person" in their right mind would want to be surrounded by Jdubs anyway, 24/7.
I think this is the first one in the USA.

So will they only allow Jdubs to live and work there?
I'm surprised the WTBS allows their name to be used for it.
When my brother in law became a quadraplegic he moved into a Catholic assisted living home,
The facility was right next to the church and part of a Catholic complex.
btw he is a good little Jdub.
