for the first time in ages.. a very elegantly dressed senior lady and a young chap.
but--it wasnt just having a leaflet thrust at me--it was a full blown "old style" presentation.
i stopped her going to far into it--by asking if they are jws--and told them i was an apostate.

it comes up from time to time: that the wt's "constant pleas for money" signifies their precarious financial state due to the pressure of the csa settlements.
is there any way of demonstrating that to be a fact?
i ask because i've always been under the impression that "constant pleas for money" is the default state of the organisation, possibly going back to rutherford's time.
it's incredible how this cover, and also this "series" of watchtower's is burned into my mind.
i was almost 5 years old when these were released.
“1914 and you” — may 1, 1984 watchtower.
Remember them well,
That was the hay day for Watchtower fear mongering about 1914 and the end.
I remember my dad saying there is no way this world is going to be still going on by1990.
Dad died in 2015.
got a jw letter in the mail the other day.. i decided to throw some comments back.
not perfect, but i figured i wasted enough time since it will probably get thrown directly in the trash.. i found the person's home address who sent it and mailed it there, the address on the letter is the kingdom halls address.. .
curious to see if anything comes of this..
I am originally from the Emmaus congregation, then the Parkway c.and lastly the South Allentown c.
No more congregations for me!
I actually think it helps you to get out if you change up congregations a few times.

on may 11th every year, we celebrate 'mother's day' as an opportunity to express our love, respect and gratitude to our mothers for all the things she has done for us.
alchemy webmedia has tried to consolidate the origin, history, legends and stories of this very special day, just for you.
i was listening to a youtube where a pastor relates his experience of attending a jw memorial.
he said something that was profound to me.. "how do you have a memorial for someone alive?".
they use this phrase all the time, even printing thousands and thousands of invitations to invite everyone to join them in doing this.. i googled that phrase to see what other christian church's use this phrase and was astounded to see that at least the first two pages of results are in relation to jw's only..
For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.
Jehovah Witnesses proclaim nothing since they do not eat or drink.
Anyone can die for something. The tricky part is being alive after dieing. Is that why normal Christians focus on Easter? Golly.
