Clean living? Ha
I can still remember an eye opening realization after leaving the cult. I realized that me and my bros were actually worse than most of the new worldly friends I was meeting, Crazy

Jephthah's Daughter
by cantleave ini have read somewhere that jephthah's daughter did not really go into temple service but was a victim of ritual sacrifice.
the bible says that after weeping over her virginity that the maidens would visit her annually.
how could they visit her if she was killed?.

Rattigan350 Everyone knows what the Abraham and Issac story is meant to teach, obedience and Jesus's future sacrifice. What is ridiculous is the whole premise of the request and why plant this crazy idea in the heads of ancient people to sacrifice your child to appease Jehovah. Especially when all the pagans around are all doing the exact same thing.
The text explicitly says that the vow was to offer her as a burnt offering and that Jephthah carried out his vow. Of course Jehovah would not want him to kill and sacrifice another human, but he didn't care either.
Jehovah wants men to marry only one woman as set forth with Adam and Eve. He doesn't even want you to look at a women with lust. So King David and Solomon couldn't possibly have had all those wives and concubines. Yup for sure!
Judges 11:40 does not say that maidens would visit her every year. It says that every year Israelite women would "commemorate" (tnh) her every year for four days, i.e. lament her death and recount her tale.

Lawless New York City now has nearly 800,000 non-citizen additional city residents eligible to vote.
But if you get rid of these residents (new Dem buzz word) who will pick all the crops in NYC ?????

Is Jehovah ridiculous for asking Abraham to burn Issac? And is Abraham ridiculous for trying to do it?
Are you saying Jehovah is ridiculous for sacrificing his own son?
Count me as ridiculous.
BTW Jehovah isn't really that worried about people dieing especially women. Never did get her name have to ask her about it in the new system.

Jehovah told his faithful and discreet slave in upstate NY what really happenend;
Jephʹthah’s daughter left her father and friends, and spent the rest of her life serving Jehovah at his tabernacle in Shiʹloh. Four days out of every year the women of Israel go to visit her there, and they have a happy time together. The people love Jephʹthah’s daughter because she is such a good servant of Jehovah. - My Book of Bible Stories
I don't know why everyone was so upset in this story all she did was move about 80 miles west to work at the tabernacle. What a grand privilege and honor to serve Jehovah in such a way! I'm sure it was a little hard for her at first, but she probably met new friends and she still had all her old friends who still visited her every year. As a popular young virgin she likely married a rich priest or a hot shepherd boy and started her own family. This story shows us that if we truly trust in Jehovah we will reap his rich blessings!

AI says it . It has to be true. lol
AI Overview+1Jews remember "The Lament of Jephthah's Daughter" on the day that Jephthah fulfilled his vow in the month of Tevet. This lament is part of an ancient custom where the daughters of Israel were said to weep for four days each year in memory of Jephthah's daughter. The specific day within Tevet is the day Jephthah fulfilled his vow, and during this period, the water would turn to blood. -

Why would the Israelite women commemorate 4 days every year if it was not what it actually says it was? He killed her and then burned her it was done alot during that time period.
"The Lament of Jephthah's Daughter"
30 And Jephthah made a vow to the Lord: “If you give the Ammonites into my hands, 31 whatever comes out of the door of my house to meet me when I return in triumph from the Ammonites will be the Lord’s, and I will sacrifice it as a burnt offering.”
32 Then Jephthah went over to fight the Ammonites, and the Lord gave them into his hands. 33 He devastated twenty towns from Aroer to the vicinity of Minnith, as far as Abel Keramim. Thus Israel subdued Ammon.
34 When Jephthah returned to his home in Mizpah, who should come out to meet him but his daughter, dancing to the sound of timbrels! She was an only child. Except for her he had neither son nor daughter. 35 When he saw her, he tore his clothes and cried, “Oh no, my daughter! You have brought me down and I am devastated. I have made a vow to the Lord that I cannot break.”
36 “My father,” she replied, “you have given your word to the Lord. Do to me just as you promised, now that the Lord has avenged you of your enemies, the Ammonites. 37 But grant me this one request,” she said. “Give me two months to roam the hills and weep with my friends, because I will never marry.”
38 “You may go,” he said. And he let her go for two months. She and her friends went into the hills and wept because she would never marry. 39 After the two months, she returned to her father, and he did to her as he had vowed. And she was a virgin.
From this comes the Israelite tradition 40 that each year the young women of Israel go out for four days to commemorate the daughter of Jephthah the Gileadite.
