The psychology of eschatology
by onacruse inso here's a question: why do some people (and i include myself as a former member of the group) seem so preoccupied with "end-times" issues?.
as a starter, i submit that it's because we are inclined to fight against the inevitability of our own demonstrably limited human existence...and therefore we develop around ourselves "escape mechanisms" to alleviate the pain of termination.. we use numerical calculations, religious speculations, mysterious cosmic forces, evolutionary patterns, etc.
etc.. your thoughts?.

Thats kind of a paradoxical question, or is it a statement about those who have left the org? I am always in search of more truth. THE truth is not the sould postion of any one person or organization. One one can stand in the full light of truth and say Im there, I made it, know it, practice it.

Why aren't all of the Annointed at Bethel?
by nomoreguilt inthis really bothers me.
i've been reading up latelty alot about the gb and it's relationship to or lack there -in of the annointed.
jesus' spirit begotten followers, here on earth, the citizens of the new jerusalem, make up the faithful and discreet slave, correct?

ALL points are valid, ever notice that those anointed in the congregations are more sheepish than the other sheep? Why? Because they have truth reveled to them, and they cant share it because the GB hasnt determined that its the "due season" to feed the flock. My grandfather would share with me as a child..in the 50's..and when I had dissagreements with the elders, they pulled out the WT and I pulled out the Word, I always closed the mouths of those blind guilds with the "real" truth.
The bulk of the FGS in the field as scared, they have no input into the writting of the literature, or the operation of the organization. I know of one anointed, that was used by the borg to "clean up" congregations, the went to Bethel to share truths only to have the doors slamed in his face. Too think that that little clic didnt want truth from a "heavenly" brother, or to take the time to reprove him "if" he was incorrect.
They truely do not understand the parable of body parts and how it has to funtion as a whole, and in cooperation with all it parts. I think all us assholes should go on strike and let the undigestable crap they put out back up. Didnt mean to offend.

There only 4 reference to 2012, all in the Awake and regarding the rise in greenhouse gasses and global warming, eclipses and full moons...the stuff prophesies are made from.

New light re: baptism?
by behemot ini heard rumors that "new light" is coming re: baptism.. it seems that those who got baptised without inner conviction or real dedication and / or cooled off afterwards, could get re-baptised.. anyone else heard something similar?.

If a stance on scriptural interputataion is incorrect, and the changing it would lose a lot of followers, would a change slowly drawn out…..new light….be to please God, or man???

I'm so confused!
by Snoozy ini'm so confused..my daughter has two teenage children, they are a girl just turned 16 and a boy 17... when i was at her house watching tv with them..they made the kids cover their eyes when sex scenes came on.
now she just told me they both seperately went with friends to see the last "saw" movie.... since when is sawing someone up ok to watch but not sex?.
snoozy..a confused grandma...who isn't aloud to voice her opinion....

Dating a df girl who wants to go back - Do I have a chance?
by mrburns inhaving read some of the previous posts, i'm pretty sure what the majority answer will be.
my situation is similar.
we met a little over a year ago, she got df over her relationship with me, something that put her in a pretty long depression that she gradually grew out of (with some notable setbacks along the way).

Her "love" of the org was not strong enough to keep her in, when she met you, what makes her think that its any stronger now? Strong eoungh to break off a loving relationship with you? And if she goes back then the "borg love" will be tested again with shunning her df'd family. The two of you need to "be" your own religion.
