I have known police and firefighters and they do a lot of things that are community involved. I was told that unless a police officer is already involved with a specific religion, they and the fire dept. prefer they attend the Baptist church. That is for this area. In other areas they might suggest they attend the Catholic church. They are expected to set a good example and be involved with voting and other privilges of being a citizen of the USA. Attending rallies, parades, and other things falls into this category. He's supposed to be a brother and have their backs. They become family.

I feel sorry for the other guys in his unit. Maybe they can find him a desk job . I'd hate to have to work with him.

I think the only reasonable and safe response the wts and boe could have is to NOT allow minors ( under 18) to work with anyone but parents or family members. That would be how I would want it if I was on the boe . I would just limit who could work with minors to family.( as long as family weren't know pedos'

I knew in the mid 80's this day was coming and the wheels of justice are slow but it has arrived. I wouldn't be an elder for love nor money.

Further I do not know how registered sex offenders can go in field service b/c of the limitations of distance from children. How???

This is a win and will effect how field service and other congo activities are conducted. It has to b/c the wts has been found negligent of not providing proper supervision for children. I know if I was among the boe's I'd make sure that children only worked with their family and I bet that is what is going to happen. When I say children I think it will extend all the way to age 18 b/c anyone under 18. Also, if it is known that a perp is a family member, can't imagine how they handle this one, except that the child can't be around that family member alone while engaged in wts activities.

This will just become a cat and mouse game of people lying and saying they did not see a child with someone not their parents. PBROW, I completely agree with you , I am sorry I was ever a member of this rotten org. that only cares about itself and not the welfare of anyone .

This victory and how it is based may help others cases to go forward easier. I hope someone eventually takes this to the SCOTUS b/c if we do have a duty to WARN. May there be many more victories for the walking wounded and hopefully it will greatly inconvenience the congo's and the wts. I know if I was a member of a boe and having to take all the responsibility I'd be thinking of jumping ship.

part 12 paragraph 21, I have the last half. wow the victim and parents are on trial. They must have a good reputation. Reminds me of rape cases where the morals of the person raped are more important than the truth of the matter.

The following questions should be answered with regard

to the accuser: (1) What is the level of maturity

of the child or youth? (2) Is he (or she) describing

conduct that one his age would not normally know

about? (3) Is the child or his parents known to be serious,

mature? (4) Is his memory consistent, or is it

intermittent, or does it involve repressed memories?

(w95 11/1 pp. 25-26) (5) What is the reputation of

the parents? (6) Are they spiritually and emotionally

mature? After carefully considering the matter, the

branch office will then give you direction as to what

information about the allegation should be shared, if

any, with the elders of the new congregation.

My hubby and I had heard that there were unauthorized assemblies being held (80's ) and some of the "apostate" tapes came from those gatherings. We were never invited to any of them but we did hear about them. I was actively opposing the boe in 86-- if only I had known how many more people there were. I knew they were wrong not from reading apostate literature-- I knew they were wrong from reading the Bible, even the NWT shows them to be false prophets. I knew there were some apostate groups but we never were invited into them either. These apostate groups infilitred the congos and some were elders and MS .. In one congo I atteneded I found out both a MS and elder were apart of the apostate group. The elders were actively trying to out these groups ( mostly younger people late teens and 20's ) but they hung together really tight.

I get sick thinking about this time period . It was a horrible upheaval in the Borg , from Bethel to the local KH. You never knew who was spying for which side. I still want to slap someone silly when I think of them trying to force my old demented mother to get rid of her early WT books. I still have them, they belonged to my grandfather .

I grew up in this Org. and did not even recognize them from about 73 onward. When 75 failed people left and the accusations were flying. Infighting among boe's and some really dirty stuff happened to some nice people.

I hope they Rot in H*ll.

billboards can be effective. I recall one on Interstate 635 ( LBJ for Texas natives) when Timothy McVeigh was on trial. It was called Highway To Hell , can't recall anything else other than that and his name. Very effective.

This link was on another thread and when I watched It I was-- so heartbroken. It was a painful watch for me b/c I recall that time period so well. There was just outright apostate hysteria. People were being dragged to the back room on any kind of suspicion of apostacy. Some of the boe's did some really dirty underhanded things against folks they considered apostate. Many ( boe's ) were just like company men who would have buried bodies if they'd had to. My mom was told to get rid of or burn her books early WTS books b/c " the apostates were using them against us". I stopped them from destroying my GF's books. Da*n them to H*LL.

If only I could have seen this at that time. I got in possession of a few tapes that were being passed around but nothing like this. For me it would be another 10 yrs. before I could walk out the door and 6 yrs. more before I was completely done with jws.
