The SDA church still holds to the date of 1844 but when jesus didn't come they then believed in the Shut Door in which probation was closed to all exept the little flock or the Adventist believers. They held to this for seven years and then decided it didn't promote church growth. This seven years was also referred to the tarring time .
The 1844 was later about the 1860s reinterpreted as the cleansing of the heavenly santuary [Daniel 8.14] where Jesus moved from the holy place to the most holy as the high priest does once a year on the day of atonement. This according to Adventists also marks the final atonement in heaven and is the start of the investigative judgement where the records in heaven are investigated to see who is worthy of the benefits of christs atonement.
The Adventists have never said Jesus came to earth invisibly this is a second Adventist construct.
Of course these theorys are not biblical and most Adventist theologians know this and many church members do also. I know a few Adventist ministers who don't believe the investigative judgement when they teach it they just teach it as church history. The German Adventists don't even teach it they believe its just an American thing.
Funny with many Adventist you can believe in evolution, disagree with the trinity and disagree with th evirgin birth but belief in the investigative is manditory because it is the one doctrine other churches don't have and identifys the Adventists as special. Barry

William Miller is still held in very high regard in the Seventh Day Adventist church and in the Advent Christian Church even today. Those churches and the Jehovahs Witness religion have a common spirituall connection. Barry

Recently there was an Australian working in a hotel in Kuwait she was raped at the hotel. She had injuries and went to the hospital and she also went and reported it to police. She went to court and in half an hour judgement was decided she along with her attackers were incarcerated for 12 months. It made no difference that she was raped only that it is illegal to have sex outside of marriage

I forgot to mention many of the early Seventh Day Adventists came from a church called The Christian Connection a church which doesn't exist today. The Christian connection didn't accept the trinity and a SDA George Knight a PHD wrote an artical and said many of the early Adventists couldn't join the church today because they didn't believe the trinity. Men such as Uriah Smith and early theologyn and James Springer White Ellen Whites husband were Arians from the christian connection. Barry

The Seventh Day Adventists originally didn't believe in the trinity doctrine even up until the 1950s much of official literature was Arian. Today the official position is the belief in the trinity but their many independant SDA ministries that believe in Arianism. They believe the official church has apostacised in believing the trinity and they call it the omega of apostacy because Ellen White predicted of an apostacy involving the personality of Jesus Christ. The most telling point here is why do they have to even talk about such issues. Why do they have to in this artical mention it is required the person "behave". what standard are they using apparently their own standard. What if the person has some grievance how does he or she express it?
