Is there an age where if a child is df'd that certain "allowances" are made (like younger child or child living with you)? She does not live with us, so he doesn't "have" to see her at all, if she is df'd soon.

I said I couldn't understand how a parent could shun their own child? He said love for God has to be greater than love for your children. I am sick about this, and know it will escalate. This preogressed into a discussion about my children from another marriage, and them dating in the future, etc.
The scriptural references everyone gave me in an earlier posting will probably make the most impact, and I thank you for them. My husband is a 20+ year witness and I sometimes wonder how he can still be one, when clearly he went againt his "love for Jehovah" by leaving his JW wife and kids and marrying me?!!??? And I will NEVER be a witness and he knows this. Isn't this like marrying a Satan worshipper, in the witness view?

I don't know why anyone would want to be a part of "God's Organization" with this type of judging going on all the time. It seems so opposite of being loving, gathering lost persons, etc.

Yes my husband is planning on shunning her I guess, but he did say if she moved in with us he could "study" with her. My husband was present and his ex at her JC, at least. My husband did make a comment that he told the elders they were treating the situation as black and white and that they should know better......so to me I can see he isn't agreeing with them/their decision.
Thank you ALL for the scripture references. I feel a bit more prepared as I think this conversation will come p soon about her being df'd, unless she appeals and then what, I don't know.

An above poster mentioned the 1 week to appeal, that is what is happening, she's got a week to appeal this so-called decision. Ack!!

Can anybody give me some scriptures to quote about mercy, forgiveness, patience, kindness? I'm really showing my lack on biblical knowledge here I know, but if I get into it with him over his daughter I'd like to say: What about forgiving XX amount of times, what about the biblical persons who did really awful things and God forgives them without a 3 judge panel, etc.

What's worse is the she didn't totally shun him when he was df'd, but then he says he won't be able to interact with her as she did with him. Why not? How come? Because he's her father, and at the time of his df she was in control of the contact (during a divorce)? I will have to ask him. I know how shamed/humiliated he felt when he was df'd
It's all so hurtful.....:(
