Those are good. They reminded me of a catholic lady that I called on one time, out on field service. She swore blind that the virgin mary had appeared to her in a cloud one day. She grabbed a camera and took a photo, got it developed and guess what ?.......she got a photo back of a cloud!

halloween, the straw breaker

Sorry about your fight.
I think I know what you mean about this strange middle world. It makes me feel a bit awkward. All this halloween, bondfire night, poppy day, harvest festival and the BIGGY christmas!
I feel unsure to as what to do, as it all seems to be thrust upon me, without me having thought it through.
However, this evening I thought I'd just go with the flow and gave the kids sweets as they knocked on my door. This is my first 'pagan involvement'!
I felt a mixture of rebelliousness, naughtiness and also a sense of taking a step toward normality.

I have moved from the area that my old congregation was in. I do, from time to time get visits from the nearby congregation who are mostly unaware that I am still infact a jw.
The first time they called, I explained.
The second time they called I gave them a mouthfull.
Just about three weeks ago two different ladys came and offered me the mags. (Aren't they supposed to keep records?)
During the couple of minutes or so that it took one of them to perform her presentation, all kinds of things were racing through my head, one of them was...pretend you're interested and ask them for a bible study...
Then reason prevailed.
I would not like to give to them any more of my precious time.........they have wasted enough of it.

Disgusting jws
by bay64me inwell for the second time in one week, i happened to bump into another member of my old congregation.
(wondering what i have done to deserve this?).
so we chat cautiously at first, then she mentions that an elderly gentleman in the same cong is very frail and needs someone to look after him.

Pork chop
Ok, maby it's not a problem pertinent to jws alone. That is not my point. It's the attitude they have and one track mind and unreasonableness that stinks.

Well for the second time in one week, I happened to bump into another member of my old congregation. (Wondering what I have done to deserve this?)
So we chat cautiously at first, then she mentions that an elderly gentleman in the same cong is very frail and needs someone to look after him. So I ask "well can't Jane?" (name change to protect identity),Jane by the way is the elderly mans' only daughter who also happens to be the longest serving pioneer ever! "Oh no" was the reply, "they are putting him in a home"
I was totally outraged at the matter-of-fact way that those words rolled off her tongue. I struggled with all that I had within me to refrain from swearing, but I got so angry. This must have been apparent despite my attempts to contain it, as she asked me what was wrong.
"What is wrong?" "she is prepared to go around knocking on the doors of empty houses while her father gets PUT IN A HOME?"
This 'sister' does not work, has no children, husband an elder with half decent job, WHAT IS HER PROBLEM?
The reply I was given made me sick. "We all have our own lives to get on with you know, anyway the house isn't big enough blah, blah, blah.
And then I remembered, there was no point in continuing the conversation any longer. I was being spoken to by one of jehovahs witnesses....and they are never wrong.
I cut the whole thing short, seething inside and feeling disgusted that I am in some way associated with that breed.

by bay64me ini happened to meet a young 'sister' from my old congregation today whilst out shopping.i think she is about eighteen now.. we exchanged pleasantries and i asked her how everyone was.
this was a general fish for info on anyone or anything i suppose.
her response really saddened me.. she told me that all in her immediate family were fine.

I would love to read the last post that was made. It is all mashed up. I mean all the lines were written over each other. Is there a prob with my comp or is it something else?
