Someone from my old congregation had a heart blip and died on the football field and was resucitated (was in a coma for weeks) and afterwards said everything was just black - no angels, afterlife or anything. I would have been more impressed if she hadn't seen xian memes (angels with wings..really? You must realise that the human torso does not have the muscule structure to support wings AND arms but why do I digress.) Like all things 'spiritual' there isn't really a clear message just a load of ideas that could literally mean anything and you are happily interpreting it as a need for your own salvation. If you need it so bad just do it already.

Did the Global Flood of the Bible really happen? Please give evidence

The moment I realised the depth of and age of ice cores the global flood became a myth.There would have to be no ice cores older than the flood for it to be global.
That's before you realise that this much water falling in such a short space of time would add vast amounts of energy to earth such that the temperature would soar, a global epic storm would ensue that would consume any boat left over from the global tsunamis that would be triggered as soft coastal islands and cliffs slumped and undersea shelves crumbled under the shaking from constant global earthquakes(triggered by the water pressure and the lubrication of plate margins) ..and then you realise that supervolcanoes would be popping up all over as water opened up new chambers for magma and the steam generated from water and lava would be blowing holes in the earth's crust.
You realise that some very uneducated scribes concocted a silly story from earlier local flood myths a story that didn't account for such people as American Indians, Pakistanis or the Chinese (and only very weakly accounts for Africans.)
And then you think about genetics and inbreeding and at some point you need to accept that its another whopper from the Book of Bronze Age Fairytales.

The prophecies on Israel actually happening, yet no religion speaks of this.....

just a few interesting things which seem to flow through all of the prophet books............ first for israel had a curse if they didn't follow yahweh, deut 28:15-68 fortells what will happen.
it culminated with them being surrounded by their enemies and cut off and such ferocity that they would do cannibalism, mothers eating children and such.

So a few of a few tribes of Israel (the rest are almost certainly gone as political entities) return to Israel, an artificial state set up by powerful christian and Jewish forces in world politics who know this is a prophecy. Sounds like it's just self-fulfilling. Why did it take 2000 odd years to even partially fulfill? When are the rest of the tribes coming back?
Did you know that many starving people turn to cannibalism? What would have been more impressive is if god had said ' in 70AD a handful of people from Israel will get caught in a Roman siege but they won't resort to desperate measures (like cannibalism) because I'll feed them twinkies from the sky for a week and then I'll make good my promise to actually return.'

Don't get so heated and bothered. Which time and place in human history do you want to return to? You are welcome to pick any time before the fed even existed but remember you will need to do without modern medicine, incredibaly abundant and cheap food, motorised transport, the internet, schooling (unless you are lucky and got a religious eductaion), if you live past 5 most of your siblings won't, your job choices will mosty be back breaking and without the protection of laws etc. You get the picture. If there is a scam going on and it managed to deliver this much plenty at a time of massive population then bugger it - its got my vote.

Theists, why does God allow suffering..

you can talk about free will/sin/people choosing to not listen to god etc to explain human suffering being allowed.. but how can you love a god that allows animals, that haven't sinned or chosen to not have anything to do with god, to have their short lives ended in often long, drawn out, painful ways.
i could list stories i've read that would probably make you feel ill, but i'm not looking to shock anyone or start an emotional debate.

The more you read the bible the more you realise that it simply tells the stories of gods inflicting pain and death on everyone else.
Adam an immortal being along with his immortal wife bring death to all life on earth (though of course the mythmakers knowing nothing of the microscopic world include no detail on how one could eat anything without some life at some level dying) and then another immortal being , God, repeatadly acts as a tyrant killing all those he decides to in a global flood and in various plagues, firestorms and human utilising genocides, then - immortals having failed in eden, failed to eradicate evil in the flood and having absolutely zero impact worldwide except on a bunch of goat munchers a few hundred thousand strong who've managed to get themselves conquered by Rome (amongst others) despite aforementioned immortals apparently being on their side - the divine numpties decide to have another stab at it and send another immortal (Jesus) who promptly causes another supposed massacre of babies and then buggers off to Egypt to hide. In a three year preaching period this immortal manages to sow confusion (especially amongst his direct followers who clearly often haven't a clue what he's on about), stir up a half arsed insurgency, manages to speak a bunch of waffle about the meek while making no clear statements on slavery, women's rights, gender preference questions, health , science or anything vaguely practical and generally doesn't bother to write anything down so ensuring 2 millenia of war, torture, slavery and scientific retardation and manages to lie through his teeth about ever bothering to return (but when he does its war, death and famine again yippee.)
Gods - a bunch of immortal pillocks who, let's be honest, you wouldn't trust with a janitor's mop.
Humans and the rest of all life - dead, dying, suffering and generally confused by this disastrous management team who after all this still demand to be worshipped.

it sounds like he had a larger audience that likely included his apostles.so, who is "this fold" he was referring to and who are the "other sheep"?according to wts doctrine, the heavenly calling (covenant) had not been instituted yet.
we don't hear about that until the last supper.

This is one reason why all religion is bad. Just because there are adherants to a religion that are peaceful and law abiding does not excuse that faith; the same source material also allows, promotes and excuses utter depraved morality. One suicide bomber suffering mental problems does not condemn any system of thought however, when it becomes a pattern (along with systematic abuse of women, genocidal teachings and a glorification of armed conflict to force your beliefs upon others) then you can see that the core doctrine is at once flawed and carries the seeds of destruction. Christianity is no more excused since its core texts have presided over millenia of death, torture and human slavery. No matter how many 'lovely' people are in a religion it is still proven to be immoral when its texts can be read to support atrocity and abuse.
When will mankind recognise the cancer that is faith. It may be benign and purely waste people's potential by consuming their mental and physical resources in many cases but people will never achieve their highest potential when they owe allegience to a magic idea above their allegiance to the human family.

Dawkins does have some bad public goofs (like the whole 'Brights' idea) but when an educated man has to defend his area of expertise, an area he knows like the back of his hand, day after day by purposefully miseducated idiots (there is no other word that desrcibes the majority of religious commentators on evolution) and then also has to deal with a largely 'underdeveloped' populace who are more interested in beer and soaps but feel sufficiently indignant to reveal their ignorance in debate is it any wonder that he sometimes gets a little sharp or short? The man is extremely clever, he is not a hypocrite and he deeply cares about humanity and the abysmal failure of religion over thousands of years to achieve anything beyond the odd war, a pervy puzzle book and to endow mankind with an abiding sense of inferiority and distrust for facts.
I am sad that I shall probably never see the day when an atheist/humanist agenda is formulated and codified in law and the bare faced lies of religion are consigned to the stake and burnt alongside every flippin' gideon bible. In the meantime the smary preachers will continue to grease their palms with the gullibles' money and hold as many people as they can in slavery and servitude to myth and magic.
