I think the most solid concrete argument the society dishes out in their masterpeice, Life: How did it get here? book against evolution is found in that diagram that shows three pictures of animals that lived in the past: the Archaeopteryx, (half reptile half bird) the lungfish (a fish that has evoloved air-breathing lungs) and the Eohippus, a 12 pound ancestor of modern horsies with a big red X over each of their pictures, therby irrifutabley proving their exsistance has nothing to do with evolution. It musta just been god experimenting with life :)

Evolution vs Creation and spontaneous generation
by MrMoe inplease read it all, i know it's a bit long, but you need to read it all to see where i am coming from.
i beleive in creation in the sense that the big bang and spontaneous generation don't make logical sense to me.
i am sure funkyderek and jan will have some fun with me on this one.

Like Houdinne, Randi has offered a large prize, one million dollars, for anyone who can prove they have psychic powers. After several years, no one has been able to prove it.
Was houdini a scientist? Is James Randi? They are both public entertainers, stage magicians. Offering a large prize to anyone who can rpove psychic abilities is a old publicity trick. James Randi has a very long list of rules to ensure he never has to pay out the million, in addition he is sole judge and jury. Like houdini, james randi is only out to get cheap publicity for himself.

Is God an alien?
by sleepy ini once gave a public talk and part of the information was dicussing did god have a begining.. i didn't find much concrete evidence in the bible for god not having a begining except scriptures that said he was from time indefinate.. which doesn't answer the question.. also when it says he made the heavens and the earth could this just mean the sky and earth ?.
i don't know hebrew so could someone help me there?.
anyway what about this scripture isaiah 43:10 .

if an 'alien' created us, then it's not an alien at all but rather a family member :)

She knows they're wrong, but she doesn't care . .
by indireneed ini posted some questions a while ago about my wife, and now i'm lost.
i put together a 200 page exposition on how the governing body are false witnesses using only watchtower literature (scans and the cd) and showing how they claim to be the salvation and that people shouldn't think for themselves, showed it to my wife, and she simply told me that she knew all those things and that if she could she would divorce me.
it's all in the bible.. the weird thing is though, the next morning, she pretended like things are fine.

'what right have I got to destroy another's faith?'
My own faith died - and it was the most awful, most depressing experience of my life. Why would I want to do that to another human being? That a sweet thought, but you aren't intruding and being rude when you save someone from drowning. You are allowing her to be imprisoned in an extremeley unhealthy cult. This is psychological torture to be in that cult, and your helping her get out of it would be the best thing you can ever do for her. She can join any number of benign faiths that actually do good for humanity via charity unlike the JW's.
Wait till she is in a hospital refusing blood due to her 'faith' and you might see what I' getting at.-Dan

Being Popular
by Stephanus ini know what it is to be popular.
well, to be totally honest, i know what it is to be unpopular, and i know that it feels really bad.
i therefore assume that being popular would feel really good!

Hitler is pretty famous, does that make him popular? Death is well know, is it popular? If you say popular enough times, it starts sounding like some weird cartoon villain, Popu-LAR, enemy of eternia!

Now look at your body. You have no receiver for brain waves or ESP signals, whatever they may be. In order to capture something as
intangible as these things, the receiver would need to be extra sensitive, probably very large and prominent. The absence of a receiver, and the absense of an unexplained part of the brain indicate that these forms of communication are impossible.
The entire brain is significantly unexplained. As was posted earlier, until we understand it 100% we can't just throw out the possiblity.
There are many things that convential wisdom would hold impossible and yet it happens
Theoretically, entangled light particles would bypass the physical constraint and work twice as efficiently as conventional laser beams and produce transistors as small as 64 nanometers.
A pair of entangled photons would travel together and behave as a single unit when aimed at two possible paths. While scientists could not determine which path they take, in quantum mechanics each photon would actually travel down both.
Quantum scientists theorize that intermingling photons can influence each other despite being separated by half the galaxy, a process that Albert Einstein called "spooky action at a distance."
