It depends I think. If i were dating someone and they were too scared and wussy to stand up for themselves and allow themselves to be controlled by their family i wouldnt want to be with them.

If you stand up for yourself and your family wont speak to you because of that, then that should be admired. Youd need a bf who can understand where you came from.

I have all of those video game systems on my computer as emulators, anytime i feel like playing an old game i download it and play it. Thank goodness for emulators and roms.

The ones I really miss though are the Sierra 'Quest' games, like all the kings quest, police quest, heros quest and space quest.

I would never prevent my 15 year old from downloading porn. It'd be like refusing them food! Teens as young as 13 and 14 are very much into sexual things and teaching them that sex is evil or disgusting in some way by forbidding porn dosent send a good message in my opinion.

As for the child porn on morpheus, many files are labeled things like '12 year old does her father' and the picture is of a mature naked 24-26 year old. Check the actual pictures to see if they really are as disgusting as you think.

I'm also a young former JW, I am 23 now, I left when I was 17 from the JW's. I left because of doubting. I worked at a public library and because of the vast information at my fingertips began to research things for the sunday watchtower study. I remember the first thing that got me doubting was trying to find things about the 607 BCE destruction of Jerusalem, and finding NOTHING...all the sources said 587 bce. I knew the Society based the 1914 date off the 607 date, so if THAT was wrong then 1914 was also wrong.

It grew from there slowly, for a year. By the time I was 17 I had written a 100 page essay on the wrongs i had found about the society, and why I was leaving. I refused to speak to any elders unless they read my paper. All of them refused. They did not want to read ideas from apostates.

So then I went to college, and now I'm unfortunatley unemployed but supporting myself thru many irregular freelance work. So I guess technically I am not unemployed, but I certainly don't have a regular income.

I agree most people seem to leave because of being caught for offesnes like illicet sex or growing facial hair :) Out of the 8 or 10 youth at my congregation only 4 are still there. The rest DA'd themselves.

It's getting harder and harder to indocrinate people in this age of instant information.

larc's thread on coupons gave me this idea.. we all know coupons can save you a few dollars or more.

but how do you save real money???.

You can save lots of money by
1) don't eat out so much
2) don't buy name-brand so much
3) cut down on drink costs, buy powder drink mixes like kool-aid or tang
4)Try shopping at bulk-rate warehouse shopping places, like here in the U.S. we have places like SAMS CLUB, PACE, and others. YOu might have to buy a gallon of ketchup, but its at a very cheap rate. Milk is as much as $1 cheaper at places like this
5) get the best rate you can on your health and car insurance
6) Do you really need cable/sattelite tv?
7) To save on electricity don't leave your computer monitor on a lot, it eats HUGE amounts of electricity. hand-wahs your dishes more instead of constantly using the dishwasher machine.
8) Keep your car in good repair to avoid huge repair bills. Routine maintenance like regular oil changes, tune-ups and tire changing can save you tons.

That's all i can think of for now.

i believe there are many on this forum who are not aware of the many online bibles from which they could almost effortless copy verses to paste into their arguments.

when one refers to a particular verse in a particular book, few readers have the patience to go seach through the whole book.. the online source i use is called "bible gateway.

" it provides several different versions of the bible, and offers word search, which is an indispensible tool for those who take their bible research seriously.. bible gateway is at http://bible.gospelcom.net/.
