Wow! Very good piece, thank you. I think you hit a lot of nails on their heads with that! You should follow through and get it published. There's common human interest here, it's beyond JW.

i got there in the spring of 1999. i was in nyc on business and had dinner with a bethelite friend, i asked him who was the society having trouble with from an apostasy standpoint and he said "randy watters at bethel ministries".
so when i got back to oregon i looked him up on the 'net and found free minds.

I remember I was about the 250,000 visitor and now the counter is approaching 1.3 million. Thank you, Randy, for your work, it sure has made a difference! Glen

WT RESOLUTIONS what becomes of them??
by JT ini got an email the other day from an long time jw, in fact he was 13 at the 1958 convention in ny and polo grounds .

Were You Ever Really "On The Watch"?
by minimus injws are told to always be on the watch.
always be ready.
be alert in the "time of the end".
-

Yes. I was. I conjured up all kind of things to "prove" these were the end times. Like the Berlin Wall coming down meant Jehovah was opening up the communist world to the Truth. That Islam would get turned on as proof of false religion biting it. Ridiculous circular reasoning. I was a very silly man.

Well, I don't see it happening without a Great Schism but mine would go like this: 1. Full rejection of the blood-rules - personal choice, no disfellowshipping 2. Elimination of disfellowshipping as a form of psychological punishment 3. Coming clean on all wrongdoing - pedophiles prosecuted, taxes paid etc 4. Payment into a retirement fund for full-time "workers" 5. Personal choice on holidays, worldly association etc. - individual freedom 6. Elimination of door-to-door requirements and time-keeping 7. Children not to be singled out (and therefore ridicluded) at school. 7.

You are EX-JWs because you want to live an immoral life!
by Sirona inmany jehovah's witnesses believe what they've been told about ex-witnesses.
they say that exjws simply want to live an immoral life.
they say that exjws cannot live up to "jehovah's standards".

No, that was a side benefit. I had a war going on within me that was making me literally ill. When I found out out the cause I started to leave. Then it made no sense to follow ridiculous rules so I started to enjoy my life again. If that's immoral so be it. Killing people from ludicrous blood-rules is way more immoral than I could ever dream up.

I'm in the UK from Sept 18-27, specifically Southend area in Essex....
by Glenmore in... to pick up my mum to come live with us.
any of you brits in essex and fancy a beer or seven?
-
Glenmore
Yep, my Mum's a cockney - forty fahsahnd feavers on a frushes froat. She quite unintelligble in rural Oregon. Mouthy, I used to love going to Southend as a kid and eating a Rossi's ice cream with two Cadbury's flakes in it. I think it was called a "99". And I gross my wife out with jellied eels and whelks - nothing finer in my book! So, no Essex folks posting, huh? Glen
