Hmmm. No, on that day you mention I felt quite alone. I was about 3 weeks ahead of my wife in leaving The Collective and I didn't know what was going to happen. At that point I knew I would never return. I knew it was inherently wrong and could never be "the truth". My wife wasn't there yet. I am happy to say those feelings passed quickly as my wife and children left for good in 1999. Glen

What have you replaced the Sunday meetings with?
by Glenmore ini have got into the habit of checking this forum and then going out on the deck (which we call the church of flow, it's a perch about 30' up) and playing my guitar for an hour or so - particularly on nice days like today.
then i come back in, look a bit of tv, eat, read and stuff like that.
i consider my sunday's sacred, i won't go anywhere unless i have to.

It's great to be able to live in the here and now. My son used to get something like a sinus infection on Sundays. I thought he was allergic to the KH. Turns out he was, sorta. His Sunday's are a lot better too. I used to have a dub friend who was always depressed on Sundays, as the next day is Monday. Dubbery was always living in the future, not the now, all that waiting.
Englishman, I do miss country pubs, there's been attempts here with the microbrewery industry but not the same as rural Essex is.
Have a happy week y'all!
Glen

I have thought about "church" but I am so far gone from Chistianity I would feel a hypocrite, at best an imposter (as I did as a dub). I really like my Sunday's. How about you?

G'mo's Poll#2 - "What will make the "faithful" really think?"
by Glenmore inodrade - from the model jw family - has a brother who is a "lifer", a bright fellow as i recall.
it makes me wonder what would really make someone truly think, to step away from the cult and take a good hard look.
for the most part any form of "apostasy" would be shied away from, so hoping someone would listen to logic, archealogical evidence, common sense etc just wouldn't work.

If the addage "when you are ready to be a student a teacher comes along" is true what would make someone be ready to learn the truth about Da Troof? Glen

Books by Walter Martin
by Bubbamar inhas anyone read any books by walter ralston martin?
he's written the kingdom of cults and jehovah of the watchtower.
i saw an ad for his book on someone else's post and it looks pretty good.

I read Kingdom of the Cults when I was "studying". As I recall, a lot of inconsistencies and I still signed up for the WT program. Crisis of Conscience was the main book for me when I left 18 years later.

Brilliant! I'd love to see a series of these, bind them up into a magazine and stick 'em on the windshields of the cars in the KH parking lot on Sunday mornings. I'd laugh until the tears went down my trouser legs!

I have my time books (got them from a dub biz in the midwest that sells witless stuff). I averaged 21 hours from 1991-1993. Damn, I was awesome!

G'Mo's Poll#1-Are xjws more likely to have been "devout" than current jws?
by Glenmore inmy theory is that a lot of us were really into the culture.
in our hey day jill (my wife) and i had two keys to the kh.
she pioneered, i was an ms and aux pio'd.

So far the Devouts are winning! Say, Randy, is there any way to do some "market research" to see how many of us were very "active" when we were part of The Collective? Glen
