Hmm. Bet you are right about the lawsuits. The WTS cares more about its $'s than its people. I haven't been called on for years, it's a shame as I have a lot to say.

No Trespassing!! Breaking news for local JW's.
by Mulan inthis week at the book study, at all congregations in the u.s., a letter was read saying if you go to a house or property with a "no trespassing" sign, you must not enter, or knock on the door.
you have to leave immediately.
a sign saying "no solicitors" is too ambiguous, and they are to use their own judgment, and don't have to knock.

ANYONE KNOW A GOOD THERAPIST?
by tresbella ino.k, so i have major issues people.
issues with my low-self esteem, issues with my previous abusive relationship that i once blamed on the fact that i deserved for sinning, while dating a non wiittness.
issues with the control the society has had on me and the control they instilled onto my parents to have on me way before i even knew better and i was wondering if anyone knew of any sites or possible online therapists that specialize in helping former jw's or people like me who are still young and live at home and so therefore have no choice but to live that "double life.

I found that going to a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist helped me, I'm sure you can find one in the yellow pages. If you read Dr Burns' definitive work Feeling Good and it seems to be what you need then that could be the way to go. Good luck, it's worth the work!

I remember two occassions, both with the elders trying to fix problems that weren't there. Both related to kids "acting up" - drinking and smoking bascially. And I believe that out of the 10 kids that went through the kangaroo court ordeal only 1 is still a dub. So evidently keeping the congo clean by making it unbearble for teenagers must be what Jahve the Volcano God likes to see.

My recent experience with some JDubyas in the UK
by Glenmore ini'm sure that if these old friends of mine knew how apostate i was they wouldn't have come round to see me, but they did.
my mum was a long-time rv and a place to go pee when the brethren were door too door in her area (benfleet, essex).
they are actually very nice people, like so many are, and they were genuinely glad to see me.

One of this pioneer group, Brenda, was in the last stages of cancer (at home in bed on oxygen), she died the next day actually. On more than one occassion the sister with the most to say made a point of saying that Brenda would die faithful, with 26 hours of service in the month of August and still qualified to be a regular pioneer! She also threw in a bit of the usual circular reasoning by saying Jehovah knew ahead about the problems with blood transfusions, it was the week that there was a scare in the papers over tainted blood (mad cow disease).
It was the same old stuff, just like it had always been. It got on my nerves, but I was duly attentive and they left after their usual coffee and a chocolate biscuit. I felt quite sad - hearing the poor dying's sister's spirituality being measured by the number of hours she spent as an unpaid sales person for a religious publishing company. Wouldn't the time have been better spent with her children and grandchildren?

Right now I could do with a bong-hit,so blow it my way. Actually I quit smoking all but those little cigars you can get at duty-free, they make my pee-pee look bigger. Oh, different story. Sorry. It's the jet-lag.

Hello All. I just returned from sunny Southend-on-Sea (Essex, England) to bring my Mum back for the winter. It's somewhat like the swallows returning to wherever they return, but more expensive. I like the UK but I hate the trip. I hate jet-lag and I hate the work that piles up in my absence. I'll feel better next week. Did I miss anything, like new pictures of Stef? I never did connect for a beer with nevergotwet, oh well maybe next time.

Give up one of your five senses

which one do you give up?

I always assumed that I would lose my eyesight, blind in one very short sighted in the other. So I thought playing the guitar would be something I could always do. So for 35 years I have played about 10 hours a week. I have about 100 songs in my repetoire so you would think I have it covered, yes? Wrong. For one thing science can now fix my blind eye, so I won't go blind, but the worst thing is I am getting arthritis in my fingers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's not fair, where's the freakin' new system when you need it???????????

Can You Picture Jesus Christ Being a Jehovah's Witness???
by minimus inthink about that for a moment....... if jesus was a jw(as jws claim), how would he have handled various situations??
for example, if peter denied him 3 times, what would've been different?
or if the disciples fell asleep the night before he was to die, how would a jesus christ jehovah's witness have handled it?.......you get the idea.

Actually, that is something I did think about as I was collecting the nails for my JW coffin. The two things I recall is that Jesus celebrated a "worldly" holiday, Hannukah, and used the name of a false god (Uranus) when talking about Heaven. Paul would have made a better JW.
