reports are coming from witnesses that, once again, the number of memorial partakers has risen considerably this past year, 2016. while confirmation is still to come on the exact numbers, the current explanations given for this increase surely causes a dilemma.. imagine the roman catholic church publishing each year the number of members who it felt were mistaken about what they believed in, that this same number of members was likely suffering from problems such as pride or even mental disorders or something along this line.

this number, by the way, was in the thousands too and growing annually.

what would you conclude, therefore about the catholic church and its admission?.

Someone is officially declared a saint in the RCC if miracles are attested to them. When an ordinary person dies they go to join all the saints that have gone before them, ie: ordinary people/saints (Similar in some ways to the JW 2 class system?)

the bible teaches that the dead know nothing (about what's presently going on in this realm) and therefore can't help us AND that we are not supposed to pray to or try to make contact in any way with departed familiar spirits. It seems that the teachings of both the WTBTS and the RCC regarding this aspect of the other realm are by guess and by golly...in fact and unfortunately, traditions of men that have made void the word of God.

I THINK that the catholic church teaches that once a person dies they can no longer help those on earth. It is those left on earth that can help the departed by asking God to remember their life, accept them into His kingdom and grant them eternal life. It is the continuation of prayer, communion mass and faithfulness from one generation to the next that is the storehouse from which those on earth can draw from (that is why God is asked to remember them)...there is nothing to be drawn from them, ie. working on our behalf, once they are departed. That's what I've gathered from many a ukrainian catholic "divine liturgy of christian burial" and "homily" anyway.

yet, october was unusually wet.

this thanksgiving week promises daily rain.. an unforeseen sadness is creeping gradually, insidiously into the fabric of my life.

Memories of Grace Gough

hi everyone;i'm not on here too much anymore, but i've been asked to write a brief biography of our dear grace gough ('mouthy' on here).

i'm writing my own memories of her but it was also suggested that i maybe contact others who knew her to see if they had a nice memory or two of her they'd like to share.

it would only have to be a paragraph or two and your name can be kept confidential if you like.

I hear you all reminiscing about Grace and I know that she has left a mark or impression on each person she has had contact with. Grace was a woman of great faith and trust in her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Earlier, when she was more involved in JWD/JWN the name of the one she loved and her faith peppered her conversation. She most certainly DID have an agenda during her time here. In complete opposition to the WTBTS, she longed to be an example of the love and mercy her God had shown her. I have no doubt that her living testimony as expressed by you all resulted in the words, "well done, My faithful servant".

She's likely still cheering you on :) hebrews 12:1.

My oldest friend, Quincy Roberts, Ex-JW died last night at age 66

the first time i walked into a kingdom hall, i was about 15 years old.

i shook hands with a 12-year-old named quincy.

as time passed and we grew older, quincy hung out with us older j-dubs.

Jesus in the old testament

about two years ago i was challenged by a householder to do the research on the subject.

of course thinking it was all bunk i decided to take a look off the reservation.

much to my surprise a lot of started to make sense and i started to understand the connections between the old and new testament .

Wild_Thing...

you can add a clickable icon to your home screen to save a few keystrokes and the site doesn't have to stay open on your browser. Just type in the site address in your browser and when the page comes up, swipe down until the arrows, bookmark etc shows up at the bottom of the page. Click on the center square with the arrow in it. Choose add to home screen.
