  Smokin........

  i notice when i am in chat a lot of people take "smoke" breaks.

  i wonder how many of ya'll took up smoking after the left the org?

  personally i have tried a ciggy a time or two but didn't really take to it...if i am going to smoke something i want it to make me...uuummm happy

  does it ever surprise you when you see people that you grew up with as a jw and they're still witnesses?

  i went to school with a lot of those jw kids my age and i can't believe that they continue to be jws when they are free of their parents.. i want to say," you're an adult with a high school education or a ged!

  I think it`s what you call a Cult some can`t get out,they are bound to association with there JW peers.It was easy for me to leave at 16 and now all my friends are out,those who remain are simply GEEKS!

  I think everyone can`t wait to hear the end result of this one,we all know that there are so many different outcomes depending on so many things.I say quit before they can have the pleasure of making a decission,feel the meeting out and at the end tell them your a lesbian that will really throw them off!!Don`t forget a mini tape recorder and make sure it has auto reverse.

  Letter to all Branches------A Fake?

  many of you are no doubt familiar with the nov.1, 2001 "letter to all branches" putting forth the the library card defense.

  (the letter can be seen at: ) i gave a copy of the letter to a jehovah's witness friend of mine who took it to one of his elders.

  the elder said the letter is a fake because: (1) it is not written on official wt letterhead and (2) watchtower does not send such correspondence via the (eeeevil) internet.

  Now we all know that this is a real document!I saw this letter soon after the allegations as we all have by now.Now there explanation for being a member is total Bull because anyone can get information from the library and or request it from there remote locations all over the place.If you do a little research you can find out all this information ie:policies,library locations and procedures for getting the info.

  Chances are they will ask you to come in for a chat and it will turn out that a committe will be there waiting for you,that is if they ask you to go to the KH,so refuse that one because you won`t be prepared!And to boot usually the judicial committe is also the investigative committe!

  They will charge you with apostacy,definition from the dic: a person who renounces a belief or principal, so here is what you say :"You should check both sides of the matter"Awake Oct 22 1973 page 6

  Now what is interesting a friend of mine went in with the same charge against him and he bugged himself and the most interesting part was when the elder said"what we are interested in is what you were thinking about" and having heard this you can see that this is a cult trying to control his thoughts!

  So I say prepare yourself and just at the end of you meeting before they decide your fate say Brothers I`ll make it easy for you I`m leaving and remove yourself

  Ahhhhh what a relief!This is what my JW brother in law (the drunk) needs to propel him from no service and attending half the meetings.And I all my life I thought it was other faiths who didn`t practice what they preach!!!

  *** when asked why she is reading some publication during the meeting instead of paying rapt attention to her husband speaking from the platform, the c.o.

  's wife responds, "oh what the heck, i hear that talk over and over.".

  *** when brother prominent elder is asked why he keeps having business dealings with brothers in the congregation (he thus causes lots of problems that the boe has to keep wasting time on), he replies, "well, we all have to make a living.".

  To this day every time I put a tie on I get a deep dark feeling that I am going to the meeting,I can`t explain how uncomfortable I feel when I do this.

  The Watchtower,I can`t exactly remember but one of my buddies had a theory on studying the Sunday edition,I think it was underline every third line and then put up your hand!

  Valis: When are those other days? well here is a good one,as a young boy growing up in the house of a Presiding overseer I wondered if we could have a day when we exchanged gifts? After some thought my father decided that it would be ok and we would do it some time in the spring usually. Now this day came to be known as PRESENT DAY!!!
  Now the funny thing now is my sister who has introduced this concept to her inlaws and now PRESENT DAY is enjoyed and is a big event one week after Christmas with a Turkey and gift which have been purchased at boxing day prices!! Pretty smart aren`t they?
