I wish this book had come out sooner. I had a very good friend, who was a huge JFK supporter, and held to the various and sundry conspiracy theories. Sadly, he passed away a couple of years ago.I know he had nothing but admiration for Bugliosi, and I know that his mind would have been changed had he been alive and reading this book now.

This has been a most captivating read. Thank you for posting this, Big Tex. I am at the point where Oswald, has defected to the then USSR.
So far the only thing that I have not been able to wrap my head around is the back entrance wound and how the bullet seemed to be rising through Kennedy's neck. However, I suspect that I missed something during my current reading. Once I finish the book, I will go back and re-read that section.
While I was never a believer in a conspiracy to kill Kennedy in the first place, I am happy to find out that my reasons for dismissing the conspiracy theories are well founded. The other thing that has struck me, is the uncanny parallel between the JFK conspiracists and the 9/11 conspiracists. The arguments they use are similar, and the manner in which they respond to their debunking is even more similar.

my peer group (post-1975 born-in jws) seems to approach the jw religion in a different manner than earlier generations.
now, these folks still believe the wts is "the truth" and if you say anything that sounds "apostate" they start freaking out.

I read this thread yestday, and last night on the Orange County PBS affiliate Bugliosi was being interviewed about this book. So this morning I stop by Barnes and Noble on the way to work, and see that it is a huge tome. I am going to check this out at my local library later this afternoon.

I used to get nailed about my music all the time after the conventions, assemblies and CO visits. It ended when I asked my parents why I should have to give up my hobbies, when neither of them gave up any of theirs. At this time my dad had thousands of dollars in various woodshop tools (granted he made nearly all the furniture in our home, and made furniture for others in the Kingdumb Hell), and my mom had knitted or crocheted (sp?) so many blankets, shawls, sweaters and scarfs to cloth thousands of people.

the app i like the best is aol radio, i can now listen to a couple of stations that i miss not living in the sf bay area.
When Apple decides to allow me to get service from a company other than AT&T (which is a demon on the scale of Microsoft, IMO) then I will buy an iPhone. Untill then I am happy with my plain old cell phone.

He went on that because he is mixed race and that his father was African rather than American, that he doesn't really represent black Americans.
I can see the guys line of argument but i wondered how black Americans felt about this, especially in light of Jesse Jacksons gaffe that he'd "like to cut his nuts off". I must admit i laughed hard at that one, i'm sure i could see a smurk on his face when he apologised.
But do black Americans feel that Obama represents them. I'm pretty sure that most are pleased to see this possibility of a black president, but on the other side is there a feeling of maybe resentment that he is not from the typical black family.
The African-Americans I have spoken with (at the University) are by no means representative of the entire African American community. However they all voted for Senator Obama in the California primary. When I asked why, they all responded (no hyperbole) that "he was one of them," meaning African American.
