Just saw this on Sports Center. Will the tape be used in a Judicial Comittee?

This is from the LA Times regarding the egg donor that slashed the throats of her two daughters on Wednesday (Sept. 2nd). The third one escaped death because she was not in the home. However, that is not the point I found interesting, rather it was this:
Edith Moreno was only 12 years old, but last week the Sun Valley girl had a serious question for her friend and next-door neighbor Karina Valdez.
What happens when we die?
Karina and her parents are Jehovah's Witnesses. Taking her Bible, 12-year-old Karina explained that death was like going to sleep and waiting to be resurrected by God.
"I didn't really think anything about it because we were teaching her about our other beliefs," said Karina's mother, Irene Bell. "Edith was just a wonderful, happy child. She was the biggest tomboy. She never complained about anything. "While I am sure that Karina is well-intentioned, I can almost gaurantee that inside her home she was told, "See what happens when people don't worship Jehovah." This is one of the things I heard at home whenever something bad happened to "worldy people."

The key with my daughter has always been affirming her choices and her establishment of her own identity. Especially when she announced that she no longer wanted to go to USC, but UCLA instead.

Did Jesus ever claim Messiahship?
by AK - Jeff inin her book, introduction to christianity, mary jo weaver says this:.
"some christians think that jesus was so clearly the messiah that no one could fail to recognize him as such...... christians who see jews as a 'problem' might be surprised to learn that jesus has been a continual puzzle for the jews.
medieval jews tended to picture jesus as an apostate jew, a man who had lost his faith; 19th century jewish scholars had an image of jesus as a great ethical teacher.

And yours isn't XJW? Geez. I just proposed a possiblility. Nothing more.
Look, I was an atheist before God saved me. However, I determined that the god I was rejecting was Jehovah of the Watchtower. If I was going to reject God, then I wanted to make sure that I was rejecting Him based on what and who He actually was, and not the Watchtower's Jehovah that I had been raised to worship. So, my presuppositions have been and are continually examined.

Why I don't respond to these queries:
These words were not recorded until decades after he supposedly spoke them. Could it be that his disciples, now eagerly trying to establish Christianity as the approved way to worship God, just put words in his mouth perhaps? Just a thought.
In other words, don't confuse me with the facts, my mind is already made up.

Top 10 Signs You Might Not Be A Libertarian
by Elsewhere ini have known many republicans who claim to be libs all the time, thinking that republicans are somehow closer to libertarians then democrats are.
i tell them, no, on social issues, dems are a lot closer.
personally, that is the important part.. .

Conservatives are inherently fakes. Consider how much they claim to value work, and especially hard work. And yet, they are in favor of taxing income derived from work at a higher rate than income derived from passively letting investment values increase. This is a very important issue for them, and is often mentioned. If you ignore what they say and watch what they do, it gives lie to all the bleating about having value for work.
Where does the money that does into "passive" investments come from? Unless you are a Kennedy descendant, it comes from someone's hard work. And that income has already been taxed once, as income. Further, even if there is a capitol gains tax, the liberals want to tax you again when you die. So not only is there income tax. Capitol gains tax if you properly invest the money you earned and that was already taxed. There will be a "death tax". Afterall why should anyone, except the Kennedy's, pass on a legacy to their children for all the hard work one has done in their life?

Yep.

I hope you understand that I dislike TBN for reasons other than the fact that it is simply Christian.
