because of their shunning policy how many family members or good friends did the watchtower take away from you?.
in my case, i'd say 4 good friends were lost because of the watchtower shunning policy.
luckily, i had no family members there

.
you know, it's not normal to love bomb a perfect stranger just becase they show a sudden interest in the jw religion and at the same time completly ignore a brother or sister because they made 1 error and an elder said to stone shun them to death.
From my own memory...people were genuinely excited when someone new would cross our threshhold...it was kinda like a subconscious affirmation that "hey, maybe we're NOT crazy if someone else on the outside can see what we see..."
Then, if anybody even slightly does anything to threaten that very precarious sense of ok-ness, watch out!

new york - jehovah's witnesses are renowned for teaching that jesus is not god and that the world as we know it will soon end.
Ok, I did it--sent the article, a brief letter, and a couple links to the local daily paper near where I live. Thanks for the encouragement to speak out and try to make a difference.

i worship my life, the 70 year span of my life, i worship.
it is my god.
this is my salvation.
I like your poetry, tetra...your thoughts are poetry in motion...
...but I do not feel that I am God, I feel that God is me...

if your jw family members were hurt by someone physically, or financially (ripped off), emotionally or otherwise would you feel sympathy for them and help them?
Without question. Without hesitation.

freedomlovers post about her dads letter got me thinking about my dad, in fact, it sounds like it could have been written by my dad.
every once in a while it really hits me that he is no longer here to talk to.
unlike most of you, i wouldnt have been afraid to approach him with questions or doubts.
That was so beautiful and so sad. Thank for sharing a very special person with us...and I don't just mean your dad

i am very angry at this time.. i took my 7 yr old little girl to the hospital yesterday....she has had heart problems since birth.
i explained that we were no longer jw,s and would accept blood if necessary during open heart surgery.
the doctor told me that if that was the case, the operation must proceed without delay.
Best Wishes (((((((Chuckyy&daughter))))))) in every way

it was made by a women who in later years wore crotchless panties and bras which had holes in the nipple areas.
he not only knew the woman in question (she's now deceased), he has met her numerous times.
up until recently this secret of her year's long sexual affair with rutherford was kept by the family.
From Farkel:
It is therefore notable to mention who took the time to attend his funeral and who did NOT take the time to attend his funeral. A.H. Macmillan stated in disappointment that there were only FOUR people who attended Rutherford's funeral, and NONE of these four included his wife Mary or his son Malcolm. Nor did they include a single other relative of his. His hand-picked successor, Nathan H. Knorr did not even bother to attend. Nor did Fred Franz, his oft-ghostwriter and the one who concocted all the doctrinal lies about Beth-Sarim so Rutherford could indulge himself in his rants and booze far, far away from the Brooklyn Bethel.
From an interview with WT attorney Hayden Covington:
Brother Heath had that big house over across the way that his mother had given him money to build. It would cost a half a million dollars to build and duplicate now, or more. We tried to get him buried at that property and the board in San Diego turned us down. They didn't want him buried anywhere out there, there was so much hostility and hatred against the Judge out there. The authorities turned us down, every turn we took. I filed a lawsuit then in the courts out there in San Diego to force them to let us bury him out there on that property. Judge Mundo, who was the judge of the Superior Court, heard it and passed the buck, jumping from one thing to another, from one technicality to another, and finally after looking at the matter in a reasonable way Bill, Bonnie, and Nathan and all of us decided that we have fought enough on this and it looks like its the Lord's will that we take his body back to Brooklyn, and have him buried in Staten Island, which we did. So Bill and Bonnie were on the train with his body. And Fred, Nathan, and I had already come back and were working~Merry
