this is in reference to the thread about dubs not having pets.
although, not a rule from the borg there are ones who would say you should not have pets.
can you think of other silly made-up rules that someone tried to impose on you?
This is extremely embarrassingbut I counselled a newer sister once, who was at least a decade older than me, that she shouldn't wear her long, full, swingy hippie skirts any more because they were "stumbling" some of the other sisters Can you believe the nerve?!? sounds more like a nightmare than a dream....
I dreamed I was a passenger in a Volkswagon bus. My mother was driving. We were starting down a winding mountain road going too fast, slid on some ice and snow, and went over the edge of a very long, very steep drop. I yelled for everyone to jump out and grab onto a bush. I did first. My acupuncturist, who was also a passenger, jumped second. We were both clinging to bushes on the side of the mountain when I woke.

we were out with a group on saturday and circumstances came up that i had a chance, for a change, to do one of my rv's alone.
i knocked on the door and she came out asking if i was dropping off the new magazines.
since i had them i said yes and then proceeded to tell her that i can't drop them off anymore.
Wow. That's about the best "witness" you could give her
But may I suggest that you not just flat out stop coming around anymore after your next explanatory visit. If you care about her, continue to visit occassionally, just as a regular guy, stopping to see how she is doing. Share a few encouraging thoughts non-JW-related. Show her you don't have to be "on a mission" to care about your "neighbors."

Actually, the largest group of ‘anointed’ JWs in one location are at Bethel, including the GB. They know of each other and are fairly close compared to the non-anointed simply because of their once a year singled out status. As you get to congregations outside the Bethel circle, they are somewhat isolated. I noticed that in my last circuit that they all seemed to know who partook (good grapevine material after each memorial) and sought each other out at assemblies and conventions. Of course, any women are not noticed much. Imagine that some are 86, born in 1920, and baptized at 12 in 1932. The majority of the JWs then were anointed and they met together at one convention each year usually just 50,000 or so. As their numbers went down, they would have kept those contacts over the years. Many ‘anointed’ JWs do see themselves apart from other sheep. Well, I hope that wasn’t too disjointed. But it is not due to any superior Christian love that they are close-knit….more like an exclusive clique.

I meant to say that I got mt D'Fd fiance to come to this board. He will probably come in the next day or to and register, most likley, as ajspapi.
To refresh, i was never part of the org. , he got kicked out cuz of me, we just had a baby, his family is completley not accepting of me or the little guy, I love him DEEPLY and am worried he may want to go back to the JW's to atone with his family, which would completly destroy us.
I am also worried he has alot of repressed feelings regarding his shunning and family, and dont want these things to come out later in life.
I know all of you will be welcoming and kind(even if he uses bad grammar too!) And please show him the true nature of this cult so he will hopefully never think about going back!

most of us remember the society's stance on sin in the more recent past, but are not familiar with some older light regarding this matter.. my daughters mother-in-law had an affair with a married man.
she was single and both of them were witnesses.
3 years had went by since she had done that and had moved away from that situation and was doing well in the congregation.. then, something made her want to get it out in the open as she felt she was "hiding sin", or "covering over" her sin.
